Affleck left the role officially in 2019 after almost two years of rumors he was done playing the character.

In June 2020 it was reported Michael Keaton was returning to play Batman in The Flash, as well as several possible projects to follow after.

In August 2020, Affleck signed on to join the same film.

There’s since been no further word beyond the initial report in any legitimate trades about Keaton playing Batman in any future projects nor Affleck.

“When it comes to the “connected” DC films/HBOMax projects, (very strong) rumor has it that Michael Keaton — who is reprising his role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in THE FLASH — will go on to be the Bruce Wayne of that cinematic universe once it’s reset/rebooted/re-whatever. Additionally, scuttlebutt also says that Keaton could star in his own Batman movie that riffs off of BATMAN BEYOND/THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS which would pass the Bat-mantle to a successor — a Bat-girl, perhaps?
