Hey all, just had a quick question. I know normally if somebody is passing and sits back for a leg lock and they lose it right away and the other athlete comes up and controls a position, it's considered a sweep.

But is there a time limit for that? Yesterday I was playing guard and they got deep into the Saddle and we transitioned to 5050 and eventually I managed to disengage and come up on top of their half guard but it took like 3 minutes. Would it still count as a sweep? Thanks all

Hey all, I was on TikTok and I've been hearing that AI song NY2MIA. Ngl kinda slaps but I don't wanna support AI slop. It reminds me of certain Brockhampton songs (can't think of any off the topic of my head) but I like the vocaloid rap with poppier production and was wondering if yall had recommendations for music like that or even just the Brockhampton songs that sound similar because tbh I can't think of the specific songs. Thanks!

Just have to document this somewhere in case I'm right. In this latest episode, Huntress Wizard's seeds? Astral bodies? Sprout into different universes including the vampire universe. In that episode of season 1, Fionna asks the Huntress Wizard equivalent if you could plant a seed in a vampire's heart to kill them. I'm super stoked to see if that line was foreshadowing Huntress Wizard going all alien chest bursting in that dimension or something similar

Hi all! Sorry if it's been asked before but does anybody have any videos or channels that go more into the history of the myths themselves? Like the Dionysius and Hermes videos. Jake Doubleyoo has some great ones but I'd like more of that sort. Thank you!

Hi all, kind of a random question but I was thinking about it during wrestling. What muscles are involved in running the pipe off a single leg? There's a few dudes that are just strong as hell, even when they're not resisting, I have a lot of trouble bringing them down. They have tree trunk legs and the movement feels super weak to me.

I don't have an issue getting most people down but I want to know so I can maybe focus my S&C on developing the weaker muscles. Thanks yall!

Hi all,

I want to start an MMA gym within the next 5 or so years and wanted some advice/personal anecdotes. The way I've seen it, there's basically 3 ways to start a school. 1. Take out a loan/save enough to just open a location and tank the financial hardship until you break even. 2. Slowly build your student base by renting and adding classes until you can afford to open a location. 3. Take over a location.

I'm not particularly interested in 1 and 3 is unreliable so I'd want to do 2 but I'd love to hear anybody's experiences opening a gym.

I have experience running a traditional martial arts school because I was a manager and instructor for a few years. I had great program retention,

Hi all. So I'm pretty decent at defending the actual ankle lock by booting but a lot of the time they just move the grip to my calf, squeeze, and I tap. If we're sitting down, I go to control the hands and that's fairly successful but if I'm standing in a SLX, sometimes they just squeeze hard as hell and I tap before I can hand fight. Any suggestions? Is my calf just weak?

Hi all, I'm an amateur MMA fighter trying to improve my wrestling. I've been doing a lot of wrestling only rounds and two things I've really been focusing on are getting superior head position and circling to make them step before I go for anything.

These two things have made my success rate go way up. Any other of these small, non-techniques things you know of?

Hi all, been watching Power Bottom and Just Stand Up to help me get ready for my first MMA fight.

I love the Reverse Z Guard and have hit it live but any thoughts on modifying it for when I'm against the wall/cage? The over head sweep isn't there because I'd be sending them into the Wall and while I can stand up, their arms are probably still going to be locked and I obviously don't have the room for the slide back Snap down.

Thanks all!

TLDR: Best seminar I've been to.

Longer Story: Just finished a 3 hour seminar with Nicky Rod. Wanted to write up my experience for anybody who was thinking about taking one with him. Seminar started like 5 or 10 minutes late but legitimately wasn't his fault. He was ready but we're in South Florida so everybody was late.

No long winded intro or warm up, just quickly thanked us for coming and got into some techniques. Started with some wrestling concepts and techniques, was open to questions. Then showed the body lock and gave fantastic details that I hadn't seen before.

Throughout the whole time, he was walking around offering corrections and did so really nicely. If you were doing it

What's up all. I've been catching arm triangles a lot. I've watched both the Gordon Ryan and Craig Jones videos and I have no trouble setting them up and holding the position but I can't get my shoulder under their chin.

I do the "jerking off motion" Gordon talks about and get my arm deep inside but my shoulder is still on their face. Ive tried tripoding and slipping down like Craig shows, hopping off to the side and walking downwards, shrugging to get under but I can't get it under. Even in drilling, it's tough to get.

Anybody have any tips? I'd love to be able to finish because I get to it consistently and I can hold it for minutes but end up transitioning to not waste the roll. Thanks

Hi all, trying to do some film study for Muay Thai and MMA. I'm 5'10 wanting to fight at 155. I like playing long and I'm pretty okay at it but obviously struggle with doing that against taller people. My MMA coach said I have to just get in there and swing or get better at wrestling. While I work on the wrestling, any suggestions besides just swinging?

I've been trying to cut the cage and that's been working okay. Feinting to draw out strikes to counter strike is also getting me some results but I still get caught with a lot of hooks and kicks when I defend off their strikes.

Thanks all!
