EDIT: Myth officially busted by the man himself!

Okay, this title sounds like a tinfoil hat conspiracy, but I've gone down a rabbit hole actually finding anything confirming this so...

At TNA Bound For Glory 2008, Samoa Joe fought Sting in the main event. In a now infamously foolish spot, Samoa Joe performed a running dropkick landing on the steps in the crowd. This bump was devastating on Joe, his tailbone was broken, he was four inches away from losing a testicle, and it forever negatively affected his in-ring work. This bump and the injury that ensued from it forever changed Joe as a wrestler, an

At 9 Years, 9 Months, 2 weeks and 6 days, The Miz is now the wrestler with the 4th largest gap between WWE title reigns. The top five in this category are.

  1. Hulk Hogan: 8 Years, 10 Months (June 1993-April 2002)

  2. The Miz: 9 Years, 9 Months (May 2011-February 2021)

  3. The Rock: 10 Years, 5 Months (August 2002-January 2013)

  4. Brock Lesnar: 10 Years, 6 Months (February 2004-August 2014)

  5. Bob Backlund: 10 Years, 11 Months (December 1983-November 1994)

An important note, Miz is the only wrestler in this top five who has spent the entirety of this gap between reigns as an active competitor in the WWE.

As the title suggest, just some info on who has the longest and shortest journeys between first stepping into the WWE and their first time holding the WWE World Heavyweight Title. A few notes as to the rules here;

  1. I'll be counting from their first ever match in the company, not the start of the run that lead to their world title. So Drew McIntryre will be counting from his initial debut in 2007, not from his return to WWE.

  2. Untelevised Dark Matches will not be counted, however live events from the days before national TV will be.

  3. This rule may be controversial, but as long as they were televised - tryout matches, local jobber squashes, and initial runs under different names will b
