I was curious what the community has used their G2 for. I'm always looking for new stuff.

Personally I have used it for:

  • Assetto Corsa (with a Driving Sim rig)
  • Truck Simulator 2 (also with Driving Sim rig)
  • VRChat
  • Beat Saber
  • Half Life: Alyx
  • Creed: Rise to Glory (Though not anymore, since the Index Controllers glitches it out)
  • Vivecraft (Minecraft in VR)
  • Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners
  • Google Earth
  • VR Kanojo (I was curious, but in the end I had to laugh at how dumb it was)
  • A few free demos

And in the future I'm planning to also want to do VR in Elite Dangerous (maybe if I buy Throttle and joystick for it).

No Man's Sky also looks interesting to me.

I had this issue like many others, but I finally had an epiphany and finally figured out when it happens for me. I don't know why, but I can make it happen and avoid it 100% of the time now.

So this might be important information, but I have:

  • 1.0 Base stations
  • They are connected by cable and thus are in A/B mode
  • I have G2 Reverb
  • I have Vive controllers, Index controllers and Vive Trackers. The device doesn't seem to matter.

The glitch happens whenever the FIRST tracking device (Vive/Index Controllers or Vive Trackers) is being detected by one of the base stations. Whichever the base station detects it first, that will determine if everything will be loaded in correctl

Hi again, the last thread I made was First time VR owner review part 2 - 10 days later

And in the second time I made the review, I mentioned that the tracking of Reverb G2 was 'good enough', but it was still noticeably worse than Lighthouse Tracking. *edit: meaning to say, even while it's 'noticeably' worse, it's still good enough for almost all the games out there and you don't need more than that.

So I decided to make an absolute direct comparison between the two, now that I own a Vive (and Vive Trackers) as well. Here's the link to the video: https://youtu.be/uhbzq3xn1Ro

I did my first initial review here: https://www.reddit.com/r/HPReverb/comments/k0cirt/first_time_vr_owner_review/

And I wanted to let you guys know if I still stand by it after 10 days of usage. I also recently purchased a 2nd hand Vive, so I can try out Lighthouse tracking and compare.

tl;dr of part 1:

  • Didn't run into any problems (using X570 mobo too)
  • Display good
  • Speaker good
  • Tracking not great, but usable

So, do I still stand by my initial experience? For the most part, yea.

1. Tracking

So lets start with this, since most people probably want to know about it. I've grown used to using the Reverb G2 tracking and it's just a really complicated thing to explain. I woul

So I just got my Reverb G2 and my past experience with VR is super limited. Like maybe in total of 15 - 20 minutes in Vive, years ago?

Today I got my Reverb G2 and I've played around for a bit.

Setup - Getting it to work

I didn't run into a lot of problems people on this subreddit had run into: Pushing the cable deep enough into the headset seemed really easy and it went in 1 go. (It was pretty smooth that I kept double guessing if I pushed it in far enough or not). Opening the battery compartment on my controller also was pretty easy to open up, no problems there either. Furthermore, I was totally expecting my AMD X570 Gigabyte Aurorus Pro to give me that 7-14 error, but surprisingly

Ever since the last sprite edit for Xmas (Candy Cane Sakura), I felt like making some more. (And this time way more serious about it). Here two more Xmas Unit edits:
