Seems like a weird thing to have. I don't quite understand the purposes of the heroes aside from being ability containers and some having unique actives, but is there also some unspoken modifiers going on for every hero or am I reading too far into things?

Seriously, in bits and places all over chapter two, especially the higher difficulty areas, the swarm type never seems to match the element. I just went to Sinner's Hovel, an area that hosts fire and earth swarms and three out of nine mobs matched the area (I died, so...) The second area had three T2 water mobs! At least the elementals matched. What the hell Square.

These arent areas with minibosses, so it's not as if the early waves are trying to catch me out. The info out isn't collated well enough to combat this dickery, and I have a pretty poor memory for these things. Anyone else off-put by this? I don't want to have to switch screens anyways just to confirm the information *the game

I have an interesting habit in how I choose heroes; instead of picking the hero and trying to find an item build that works for both of us, I will instead look at a particular item and ask 'how do I make this particular item work?'. This comes from an old habit of mine back when I played CCGs and found underused cards, where I would try to build a deck around them instead of finding decks that they could fit in.

So, in extension to making this thread about uncommon/underrated items and making them work, I ask 'Would you put a Refresher Orb on Omniknight?' What I'm essentially looking at is 14 seconds of physical near-invulnerability to go with a 350 HP/14s heal, but the big thing against it

If not, I'd certainly like to see it. It feels so useful and intuitive after getting used to it. I can't understand people using hero camera lock, but to each their own. Certainly, border scrolling feels like an outdated and clunky concept which has more use in less action-oriented games. I'm thinking a dual mode where checking the map is normal, and refocusing your hero returns to mouselook.

Considering it further though, UI elements could get in the way, and your mouselook vision might not be truly representative of your true vision. Maybe with UI modding so that there's no clickable elements other than your map, or something to that effect. It would be nice to have around regardless.

I've been seeing a lot of hub-bub about surrendering and how it's a dishonorable tactic, both in local arenas and in various online communities (some Reddits included), so I thought I would try to write an article to convey what I think about surrendering a game, and how it is only in the best interests when done right. I submit to r/gaming for the betterment of the broad community at hand.

Surrendering, as everyone knows, is a player or team giving up a game before any victory condition is reached. There are various reasons for doing this, but lately the outcry against has been rather loud, forceful, and adamant; you do not quit, regardless of where you are in a game. Why is this, I ask?

I was thinking about what Dota 2 might cost upon release, and whether it would follow some style of freemium model, and I considered this.

Imagine if Dota 2 was free. As free to the point DotA is now. But in the future, there will be new heroes, and new game modes, and those have to earn something. This is where I think TF2's new item rental system comes into play. I'm thinking Valve will announce 'seasons' for their updates, encapsulating a time period of content updates and selling it for a flat price. For those who don't pay, they can borrow whatever they need for the rental period, whether it be heroes, maps, or game modes for the seasons they haven't paid for on a trial basis, instead
