Working on a 90s bathroom repair. Shower had a slow leak below it which resulted in some mold stained subflooing. It still seems fairly solid/has no flex and is 3/4" OSB.

We've sprayed to kill the mold and are considering if spraying it with killz and laminating another piece of half inch plywood overtop would be enough or if we should cut down to joists and install new 3/4" with blocking.

Hey all!

Looking for some advice or feedback on matching up a release type to my swing. Been golfing for a long time, usually hit in the low 90s. A few years back I took some lessons to finally try and gain some consistency. The coach completely changed my swing. Path is consistently 2 degrees inside to out, taught me to use a body release and aim for a bit of a draw.

When I connect I hit it really great. I can send a a 7 iron 170 yards with a nice flight.

However over the past 3 years my consistency has tanked and what I attribute it to is my lack of ability to consistently fire my hips.

I find the body release requires a very aggressive rotation to square the face. I can do t

BM Advance Bubbles?

Advice Wanted

Hi all,

One of those threads again.

Painting some cabinets with some dark blue BM Advance. Decided to test a few pieces of MDF molding to make sure it has the finish I'm looking for.

Molding was painted with BM Advance ( white) years ago, and had 0 issues.

Primed again with Zinsser Bin, scuff sanded with 220, cleaned and dried.

See pics for what I'm getting.

I'm using a 3/16 mohair roller and a nylon/polyester brush. Both cause bubbling.

Doesn't matter if I lay it on thick or thin.

Hi all,

Looking at getting winter tires for my wife's C70. The vehicle currently has:

235/40/18 tires, but I also see that 235/45/17 tires are another stock OEM option.

My question is: Is it alright to go down 2 sizes to a 16 inch tire for winter given it would only be down 1 size from the 17 inch option?

If I look on wheelsize.com it does list 215/55/16 as a winter option, and these are much more affordable.

Some context perhaps,

Recently lost about 35 pounds over the course of 18 months through dieting (CICO, high protein, etc.) and am currently in the returning to reality phase where I'm not counting calories on a daily basis.

Recently on a 12 day vacation, I gained 8 pounds. Over the course of the vacation I walked an average of 10km each day. For my body type, this would equate to essentially eating an extra 2800 calories per day over my RMR. I can say for certain this did not occur.

So if CICO is a myth in that metabolism, hormones, nutrient quality, etc. all play a significant role in weight gain, how does one return to a realm of normacy without religiously logging calories and macros

Looking for a bit of inspiration or guidance here.

We are about to embark on a bathroom remodel and have an oddly sized vanity to redo.

The wall to wall opening is 83.5 inches, which we are hoping to get a double sink vanity for.

Unfortunately, 84 inches is the standard size, and while you can find some 83.5 inch vanities, they are few and far in between for options/pricing.

This leaves us with going with either custom ($$$$), or 2 smaller vanities.

However, even going with 2 30-inch vanities leaves a gap of 23.5 inches (not a standard size for linen cabinets), or 2 36-inch vanities (leaving a gap of 11.5 inches, which is odd), are not great options either.

Anyone run across

New 2025 forester premium.

Get the vehicle home and notice the rear window panels have some imperfections (photo included). I know, small, but its a new vehicle right?

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eFUr0TXIoctr3_xNtxHwSJk-2QV3-kqy/view?usp=drivesdk

Message my salesman who says to bring it down and they will try to buff it out or will probably order new panels.

As expected, they can't buff as its an imperfection in the plastic. Manager waltzes out to try and fails, then says "you can barely notice it". Says I'll need to go through warranty with Subaru and they may or may not replace if they deem it within the realm of acceptability.

Wtf??

Recently ordered a 2025 Forester Premium (Touring here in Canada), and through my research have been finding lots of hate the vehicle gets, as well as the tribes of people saying the RAV4 is a vastly superior vehicle. Are these people on drugs?

After test driving both vehicles (hybrid Rav4), there wasn't even a comparison. The Rav4 felt like driving a basic trim vehicle from the early 2000s. Sure it has hybrid and maybe a bit more kick, but the interior, ride comfort, convenience, safety features, etc. were all lightyears ahead in the Forester.

I hear complaints of it not being a super powerful vehicle, but who's needing get 0-60 in 4 seconds when they're taking the kids off to soccer pra

I'm trying to figure out the math for financing a vehicle vs. leasing and paying the residual cost at end of term. In my calculations, it appears more lucrative to lease....what am I missing. See my table below for an example. Lease is on the right, finance on the left.

|| || |Downpayment|$6000|$6000| |Biweekly payment|176.28|336.86| |Total payments (48 months)|16,922.88|32,338.56| |Interest Cost over term|2675.61|3795.12| |Residual (end of term)| |16867| |Total paid|$42,465|42,133|

With leasing, you could just bank the extra money you're not paying and save in a HISA or something until your 48 months are up, and then by the vehicle outright at the end. This would mean lower payments o

So I've been with my insurance provider for 7 years now, and my current vehicle has been with them for the last 5. I just got a letter in the mail from them saying they require an inspection because its older than 12 years at this point (its 15...), and no changes to my insurance have been made.

Why would they be reaching out for this now, and are they allowed to do so?

Hey all, looking for some feedback/advice.

Currently on a year long weight loss journey which began Fall of 2023. Started at 231 lbs, currently at 202, but have been as low as 198, but weight loss has plateaued like mad. I reached 200 lbs in June of 2024, for reference.

I'm 6'2", and typically try to keep my calories to 1550 a day, with my macros roughly 120 carbs, 120-160 protein, 50 grams fat.

I currently run about 15k a week, and do weights 3 times a week (legs, arms, back). This has been my routine for about a year now.

I feel like my weight loss has just halted. I will have a cheat meal once a week on Saturday, bloat like 5 or 6 pounds, then lose the weight slowly over the next 4 da

Hi all,

Looking to hook a couple of powered speakers up to a Sony X900H tv. TV only has 1 headphone output and an optical output. From my understanding, the headphone output will utilize the TV's internal DAC, which can sometimes be fairly low quality. However, will there be any benefit to getting a cheap DAC off of Amazon and using the optical out as opposed to the headphone jack? Looking at the following:

So we had 13 windows done in our 2 story home, from double pane up to triple. Windows also went from fiber glass insulation to spray foam. Our pre and post retro fit tests show that our ACH went from 2.85 to 2.97....What gives??

Hey all,

Picked up a can of BM Regal Select in Satin to paint an interior metal door. Scuff sanded/spot primed. Temperature was 73 degrees, used a foam roller as this was recommended to me cabinets/smooth finish. Finish orange peeled like a M@#&$F@%@:# ! I rolled out as quick as I possibly could and tried not to go over rolls needlessly. What gives?
