I have ME/CFS, which is an incurable chronic illness characterized by Post Exertional Malaise or PEM. In short, ANY sort of exertion (physical, mental, emotional) causes a backlash of flu like symptoms and can permanently lower your functional baseline. Doctors don't currently understand why it happens or how it works, but it seems to effect the mitochondria and energy production in the entire body.

I have a decently bad case of ME/CFS, I cant work at all and I can barely leave my house. Even positive, non triggering socializing causes an upswing in symptoms for multiple days afterwards.

And it just feels like my abusive mother has moved into my body. I feel like this illness acts

This is a vent/rant but I am open to advice

So I have an extensive history of trauma- parental abuse, being raised in a cult that only sees you as a baby maker, becoming disabled at a young age while being abandoned by almost everyone as you left the cult will really mess you up. I have pretty severe CPTSD from it all.

It’s extremely hard to live with, but there are treatments and therapies. It’s a lifelong recovery process, but there is a process.

But then you add ME/CFS to the mix, and it becomes my personal hell.

You have to emotionally pace healing or you’ll get PEM, but the nightmares and flashbacks push you into it anyway. CPTSD is a constant soul killing energy drain, but trea

Just a quick rant.

This is the last weekend of my local rennisance festival. I love renn fest dearly and have only been able to go twice. Going to renn fest is my one big outing of the year (I’m mostly homebound), I even borrowed an electric wheelchair for it!

But my POTS has been so bad this week I don’t think I’ll be able to make it. I’ve been trying to pace extra well and do all my symptom management. . But my POTS is still really bad.

This disease is so awful. Comorbidities are so awful. Not knowing whether I can do something or not is awful.

I feel like a zombie or some form of sub-human who “isn’t allowed” to have a life. (I know this is a trauma response, but it doesn’t feel

That’s it, thats the post. I had a dream about an actual zombie apocalypse and it was somehow less stressful then a dream about my emotional triggers. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hey, has anyone found a good guide on how strict we need to be with Covid?

I’ve been very strict so far but the isolation is really getting to me. I’ve asked my doctor and gotten information from her but I’m also looking for online resources (especially as things change with omicron)

I have CPTSD from growing up in an abusive household in a cult. I finally got away from the abuse and out of the cult and started healing . . . Only to immediately become completely disabled by multiple incurable and untreatable chronic illnesses and CPTSD.

The pandemic has made things so much worse. Even when I can leave the house I’m in constant danger of catching COVID and becoming even more disabled (one of my illnesses, ME/CFS, is basically the same as long covid). No one masks anymore. No one cares anymore. Some of them actively want me to die for “muh economy”.

I’m just so trapped in grief and mourning. I never had a childhood . . And now I’ll never have an adulthood either. I’m t

DAE Drown in constant grief ?

DAE (Does Anyone Else?)

I’m constantly grieving the things I’ve lost, my childhood, my family, my parents, my body and physical ability after being diagnosed with multiple incurable diseases, my career and financial independence. . . The list goes on and on.

I wanted to go to a small local art fair this weekend but my chronic illnesses are flaring and I have to grieve yet again . . It just feels like too much. I haven’t been able to go out and do fun stuff for years (chronic illness + being vulnerable to COVID) and it just feels like I never will now.

My therapist says “focus on what your body can do” like yeah I’ve been doing that for two years straight. It doesn’t fix anything it just keeps me from fully goin
