I've been having a surprisingly hard time on the guild assignments even after maxing out the available unlocks from relic hunt mode. Is there a particular trick to them I am not seeing?

SO far I've only succeeded in Showdown, which was relatively straightforward. Iron Contribution I think the most iron I've gotten to was 120. Upside down I just can't stay ahead of the waves even with assessor and drill. Maze is just frustrating.

I'm looking for good suggestions on how to implement a backup system that can handle the following:

  • backup service runs either in a docker or on a dedicated linux vm
  • service "pulls" backups from Windows and linux clients via SMB/SSH and stores them on a mounted linux share
  • supports incremental or differential backups in addition to full backups.

The goal is to put something together that's easily expandable and mostly zero-touch once its set up, and which can mitigate things like ransomware by not permitting the backup source systems write access to the backups directly.

I've tried using basic linux backup scripts for this in the past but always ran into an issue with the Windows

About a year of playing (and $20/mo in crys shipments) feels wasted now, but at least I can move on to better things.

Lot of people seem to think I should "give it a chance" but I've really given it all it deserves at this point. It's just not fun for me anymore, and it only took a day for me to be convinced of that.

Never fix what ain't broke.

I'm trying to understand the process that goes into those paint jobs I often see where it looks like they just layer it on super thick to cover up imperfections and protect the metal from corrosion and weathering. It's usually in bright, bold colors like red, yellow, green, and blue and just seems impervious to all kinds of use and abuse by tourists etc. How is this kind of painting achieved? is it many many thin coats over a long period of time, or specific paints or application processes that manage to just lay it down thick without orange peel? I'm really curious.

There are a ton of cheap brands floating around on amazon/ebay where a medium sized sonicator can go for $100-$300, but are any of them actually good? I tried a $100 VIVOHOME one on amazon once and had issues with it making ear-splitting noise and not cleaning very well, and eventually burning out. I don't want to have to pony up for a true industrial/lab unit as I won't be using it every day, but are there any decent reliable ones out there among the budget offerings?

EDIT: I want something that can work with both water and heavy chemical solvents, and be cleaned between them.

Car: 2001 Honda Insight

  • Single-DIN
  • 2x 1-way 6" door speakers
  • 2x 2-way 6" rear bulkhead speakers
  • 2x 1" door tweeters?? (do I really need to replace these?)

Requirements:

  • Bluetooth audio
  • "decent" sound
  • Physical buttons and knobs (no bullshit fold out touchscreens)

Nice-To-Haves:

  • low latency bluetooth
  • easy to use, no-nonsense interface
  • rich bass (I'm a fan of the Klipsch kind of sound for example... but 6 inch speakers, so...)

Use case:

literally just going to stream music/audiobooks from my phone. No radio antenna or anything else needed.

Car is a shitbox so I don't want to spend a lot of money on sound that I won't be able to hear over the road noise anyway.

Thank

Most if not all of the recommendations I've found are for 1 or 2 channel systems. I am looking to replace my external mirrors with side view cameras however and want a system with a convenient way to view them. Since I also want a minimum 2 channel (front/rear) DVR system, I figured there should be something out there that does both, right?

But are there any that do it well?

  • What are your goals for your car audio system - as loud as possible (SPL)? Sound quality (SQ)? Some combination of both? Describe to us how you want your system to sound.

Loud & Clear sound, good sound quality, and decent bass

  • What vehicle? - year, make, model, type (coupe, sedan, SUV, truck, etc.)

99 GMC van:

  • 2x 6.5" front speakers max 3" depth
  • 2x 6x9 rear speakers max 4" depth
  • "DIN and a half" head unit
  • Space under driver's seat: 14" wide by 12" deep by 8" high

  • What is your maximum budget?

Budget depends on what I'm including. I'd like some recommendations that both include and exclude an amp and under-seat sub.

I'm looking to spend about $300
