Paragon (CTRL) High Profile works on Windows, but not on multiple Macs

Bought this guy (https://drop.com/buy/drop-paragon-series-full-stack-keyboard) a month ago. Worked fine for a bit.

Then my Mac Pro (cheesegrater) started having kernel panics 1-2/week. Maybe related, maybe not.

Now my keyboard won't work on my computer.

Different USB cable? Doesn't work. Different port (on either the Mac or the keyboard)? Doesn't work. Different cable orientation? Doesn't work.

On my 2021 M1 MBP? Same. It doesn't even show up on the USB device tree on either computer.

On a custom built Windows PC? It does.

I re-flashed the firmware on that computer and verified that I had done (I'd previously updated with

Phrasing why no reference from employer who "lost the plot"

tl;dr: ex-boss in long term job had a fairly significant "breakdown" and as a result I really want to avoid using them as a reference, but need a succinct and objective explanation for why.

I worked for a company for about 12 years until recently, including several promotions into the "tier" I'm applying in now. I need to explain objectively why I do not want to use them for a reference.

I reported to the CIO as a Director. He was a very early employee of the company, and in fact owned a third of it (founder is the CEO and owned 50%, and another exec owned the balance). They have been around for ~25 years in healthcare.

Selling all these, in "Excellent to Like New" condition, because I've moved to mirrorless and the OCD/GAS in me has picked up the native mount versions of each.

Each lens has front and rear cap and hood (though the 100mm hood is third party).

No optical blemishes or damage to either front or rear on any. No dents, dings, or non-negligible scratches on bodies (am happy to show exactly what 'non negligible' means if interested)
