Good day folks,

Figured it was about time we finally got around to this, now that things have settled down a bit personally on the home front. Meant to do this about 2 4 weeks ago, but the world opted to go to hell in a handbasket around the same time. I know at least a few of us from the r/homelab mod team got rather rapidly busy shifting things around for working from home and a few many late nights were had.

After a rather herculean effort by u/Cosmic_Failure, u/macx333 and u/upcboy of clearing the ~3500 items in the mod queue, going back a couple of years, I think we've got things relatively cleaned up and moving again around here. So with that being said, we'd like to ask

Any of you using the redesign site seeing a banner for a new chat feature that looks like it's an official part of this subreddit, BE AWARE, this is a new feature reddit has opted many subs into without our consent and with no warning that it was coming.

Some fun facts about it:

  • The groups are for up to 8 users, but there is no restriction on who can join these or what they can do inside the channel.
  • It is unmoderated at present (and will remain so, we have a Discord and great discord mods and bots who keep it going)
  • It is n

Hope the summer has been treating y'all right and you didn't blow all the vacation money on the lab.
