Most people on this sub are probably quarantined or following stay at home orders. I'm finding that this is pretty frustrating and requires a lot of self control to accomplish anything. Not having anywhere to go is frustrating (I want to go out to eat, or to go a bar, or anything. But obviously I can't.)

How are you staying motivated?

When there's a crisis, a real crisis, people put on their happy faces. "It's not that bad", "we're overreacting", "We'll come out of it fine!" Behind this cheerful exterior, I can feel an attempt to reason away reality. It's bargaining- isn't that one of the stages of grief? I guess we've made progress if we've moved on from denial.

I'm disappointed at seeing this shit all over the conspiracy subs because it's obviously mirroring the establishment narrative. I'm not afraid of hearing bad news and you don't have to be, either.

I'd like to invite any kind of negative comments in this thread.

Yang came out of left field and inspired hope in a culture of apathy. In a political field full of gibbering maniacs and establishment hacks, Yang had the courage to push for practical, realistic change that could make people's lives better.

He called out the debates for being stupid entertainment fluff. He openly said that people's lives are getting worse. He said that America is in the process of becoming a country of mentally ill, dysfunctional people, one of the most grim and accurate prophesies any mainstream politician has dared to make. Yang stood out as the one honest man, like the boy in that old story about the naked Emperor who pretended like he was wearing invisible clothe

The "Universal grand scheme" type of theories rings hollow to me because that simply isn't the way anything works, ever.

If you examine social relationships, power structures, historical trends, etc, you'll see that competition and randomness have the habit of leading to totally unexpected stuff happening and the status quo being destabilized. I don't believe that an ancient 4,000 year old conspiracy could be secretly maintained without people knowing. I don't believe that "incredibly secret Illuminati bloodlines" could be effectively maintained for a long time without being eroded into dust.

Jace comes out as gay. One of the new red legendary creatures is a homophobic Orc who has a showdown with him. There's a young adult fiction novel written about it.

Lilliana befriends Vraska, but they get in an argument about what to do with an artifact that looks like a bunch of jewels and swords glued together. There's 800 pages of lore about it somewhere that nobody bothers to read.

Chandra was actually black, all along. All images of her are recolored to meet this new vision of the character.

While the number of Magic: The Gathering players continues to decline, the total biomass stays the same as the playerbase continues to get fatter.

When they sent the legions to march out and battle the ocean, they came back "victorious" with seashells as their spoils of war.

They never really won, because you can't defeat the natural world. The ocean was just kind enough to let them take the shells and leave. It didn't really mind.

That's the story of industrial society writ large... we send our legions out to fight against the natural world, and it graciously gives us what we want. Made bold by our triumph, we invade again and take more spoils. The thought never crosses our minds that we're facing a power that's outside of our control, poking a great giant that could wake up and eat us all up in a single gulp. It seems like at

When you're a radical movement at the fringes of the mainstream, you attract a different kind of crowd that includes people who many would consider "undesirable".

One pretty obvious example of this is the Aryan Nations, who politically have a lot in common with the alt-right but are really something else socially, being a prison gang full of drug dealers and violent criminals. I think you could make a strong point that meth smoking, prison style skinheads don't have a place sitting at the table with the rest of the alt right, and should be turned away at the door if they try to associate.

How about crazy people? I'm talking about people with mental health issues who are obviously "not

If you check r/all sometimes there's incredibly out of place posts with thousands of upvotes talking about large multinational corporations. I find this very suspicious.

I've noticed this before, but today really inspired me to make this post because I found two things on the front page of r/all that suspiciously look like ads to me ("BRAND NAME haha guys am I right???") I think it's a great example of this phenomenon.

Here's a screencap: https://imgur.com/a/RBiOVMB

There's uncertainty because you can't tell for sure if it's an ad or not. Sometimes the user accounts have a suspiciously weird post history (like the second one, where OP literally spent hours responding to people talki

What's going on? I tuned into the DNC debates tonight and it opened with a Word Wrestling-style announcer describing the candidates in a ridiculous voice while flashing, disorienting shit was displayed all over the screen. The audience was shouting, interrupting, the candidates were at each others throats. I think we're seeing a new age of politics as entertainment (infotainment?)

The Trump age turns politics into a circus and the mainstream democrats say hey, let's respond to this by making our own circus that's even zanier.

One of the more marginal candidates made a really interesting meta-observation at the end
