Advice can be given if y’all wanna give it. I came here to rant but I’ll probably respond to what you guys say.

I just had my meeting with my advisor and one of my professors and I swear to god it was worse than what I was expecting… kinda.

My advisor and them were super understanding but I just couldn’t convey to them all that I wanted to, I completely bungled it. I legit broke down into tears multiple times throughout the meeting, I was hyperventilating, I was a mess.

I’m currently a comp sci major who discussed pivoting to IT with them but I don’t even know if I want to do THAT anymore. I thought I had everything planned out in my head but I pretty much completely collapsed that night

Are you able to take courses in the summer in a community college or an online institution and transfer them in as an Active Student?

Just curious about it to be honest, just in case I do end up wanting to take anything elsewhere while in Penn State.

Title explains it decently well. I came into my first semester as a CS student, and my second semester is coming pretty damn quick. Programming’s really interesting to me and I like doing it, but the mathematic portion of CS, particularly the calculus, is very unforgiving for me.

Normally I’d say that I’d just get through it, but it all had me thinking… do I really want to do this? When it comes to programming I’d love to do that, but I don’t know if I’m the best fit for it when it comes to taking it as my MAJOR. I really don’t think I’d be the best fit for it, I’m not cut out for the that kind of course. It interests me but not to that degree, or at least I’m not sure I am.

Obviously thi

This is both a vent and a cry for help, and maybe just be me babbling into the void. I’m just scared man so bear with me.

I just feel like an unworthy moron at this point man, it started out okay but it cascaded into failures. I struggled horribly during calculus 1 the whole time through. I want to do something like IT or Computer Science and I’ve just failed entirely at Math, and my procrastination and stress hindered my ability to turn in assignments on time for my main programming course.

I failed a majority of courses because I either overestimated myself, couldn’t decently manage time to subdivide periods for me to write essays, I couldn’t even work out until late in the year because

Finals

Celebration

Finals are almost done with folks and overall I’m feeling pretty happy, except with regard to calculus.

I got a 98% on my English final essay, a problem-solution essay on the war in Ukraine I completed in 12 hours straight, not getting up from my spot till I was finished. I was so tired that by the end I was just yapping I’m pretty sure to reach the 5 page minimum but by the GODS I’m so happy.

I cooked up on my final Comp Sci program, I’m really happy about it too… now all I’ve gotta do is get through Calculus.

Overall I am not the happiest about this semester, I could’ve done much, MUCH better if I put my mind to it but this really woke me up to how college can be and it’ll be motivation

Math

Question

I’m at Penn State Brandywine and I’m seeing about taking Math 110 with Schultz, is she alright? Anything I should know about her and her practices and how stuff works there with her class?

Mexico…

Historical Project Mod

I’m doing a Mexico test run before I start my first full Vic2 campaign and I’m using HPM.

I saw that I’m a dictatorship and that won’t exactly bode too well for me, and so I wanted to get some voting in here… and there’s only one problem.

Some VERY unfortunate events occured early and I have a 100% reactionary upper house, and they only want to REVERSE reforms, not add any. So I’m basically stuck and the stupid Jacobins’ revolt risk basically never climbs.

Any advice for how to salvage this?

I just got done my third Calculus 1 midterm in my Freshman Year (my professor does four midterms and a final) and I feel like a dumbass and a failure.

I haven’t been doing great in my exams before this but I came in with low expectations and actually started out hot, it felt like I knew what I was doing a bit! But unfortunately for me when I got in I was a good bit late for the start of the exam, and so I had less time.

And while I was starting hot, I was second guessing myself a good bit on where to start and deliberated way too much.

I could have EASILY eeked out a B or even an A or something but because of me taking so long to get there and taking so long for some questions even though

I came here to apologize for how much I was tweaking before over textbooks and stuff. I managed to fix my problem through a mix of finding good deals for some, some good luck in my Math 140 class having an open source textbook, and then paying regular price for the last one, I officially have no textbooks I need to worry about.

I was scared too much too fast and underestimated the power of the internet and for that I apologize folks. I turned things around, my private loan is coming soon to chokeslam most of my balance, the state grant should handle the rest and then aslong as I work smart, hard and consistently I should be good to go!

I am terrified man. I am going to Penn State Brandywine and I was looking at the digital textbooks on ZyBooks that I needed for my Computer Science class among others, like my Introduction to Python class for example, and I saw the price and everything. Didn’t seem too horrible and it’s unlikely that I need zybooks for every textbook so I should’ve been alright.

I have a pretty distinct plan for my finances. I have a $7,000 private loan ready to be disbursed over these two semesters for my first year. I did the math, I fully intended to simply use enough to bring my statement balance down to however much is equal to my PA state grant or maybe a bit less so I’m safe from late fees and delinq

I move into Brandywine Campus on the 23rd and I’ve heard that I can apply for part time work at the dining halls like the Blue Apple Cafe to make some money and save a good bit on meals.

However I don’t know when an optimal time to apply would be.

When should I apply for the job, would it be best to apply on move-in day? On the weekend after I move in? Or would another time be best.

This is both a discussion and a question, because I’m rather curious about this. Due to the delays in the PA State Grant that went on I emailed my campus’ student aid office about how it would all go, when the grant money will come in because I took out a 7,000 dollar loan to make up the differences for the cost of tuition and books.

But after that I got a reply email and they told me that even though the grant money will be coming in late students will still have to pay the balance up front due to bill due dates.

Is this how it’s going to go? If I dig into some of the loan money to cover the costs until the grant comes in from the state will I really get the money back once the grant com

Hey folks! First time posting on here good to see y’all.

I’ve been trying to make sense of my balance for my first year so I can help understand things more once it comes time to actually go to college and it got me curious.

I checked my LionPath finance area and went to look at my account and it didn’t factor in my PA State grant as anticipated aid, which would be another 2,630 bucks or so for this semester alone and I could use the 7 grand in private loans I got to sweep through my necessary costs that remained… however, here it isn’t factored in!

And then I read that it will apply on the 10th week of class approximately, so it scared me a bit. That messed up my plan a bit, how am I gon
