Clearing out a bunch of old gear, make an offer or just come take it. I need to get it off my hands.

Most of the Ubiquiti stuff is unused, although open box.

PICKUP ONLY for now (for the servers anyway) - my car broke and I need to fix it, takes time. Seattle area. I have a cart I can drop the servers on, bring them to your car, and let you load up if you'd like to make it as contactless as possible.

Everything is as-is -- I haven't used the servers recently, but didn't have any problems while I was. The R610s both have rails attached but when I got them the ends of the rails were bent and I never put in the effort to fix (I had alternative means of racking them). Just a heads up.

So i'm sitting on a Digital Storm Velox PC which is not my primary personal device and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. It's got a boatload of great hardware but is a funky build. The CPU seems a bit imbalanced relative to the rest of the system. Curious what people think I should do with this, and if there's anything I missed besides the weak CPU on this build?

Thinking about upgrading the CPU/Mobo and keeping it? It is similar to the build that is my current device, but I switched to team AMD and am not looking back. My other build is mostly at parity in other ways -- different brand but already has 32gb 3000Mhz, it's a founders edition EVGA 1080 8gb instead of the M

I’m a developer at a Big N and in early July I’ll hit 2 years in my current role. I started my current role as a new grad hire. I’m looking at new roles at other Big N, some well-funded startups, some finance firms, and some earlier stage startups.

Despite being ready for a change, my current role is awesome in what it provides:

  • 122k base (started at 107k -> minor promo in 6mo. -> merit increase 6mo later -> next potential pay bump coming up in March)
  • 19% cash bonus + 9k stock last year, both of which were effectively close to max given my current role. In showing me these my manager said something to the effect of “we brought you in under leveled”.
  • original stock grant was

DDR4 - 4x16Gb Samsung 2Rx4 PC4-2133P individually packaged.

R710 - 2x X5550 CPU, 48Gb RAM, 2.5in hard drive version. I want to say the dual 550w PSUs.

Want to get rid of the R710 and trying to see if I can get a buck out of it. Memory is just lying around right now.

E: I think the 710 has 4gb dimms, I need to check.

###Build Help/Ready:

Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)

Yes.

What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

I have some existing parts, wanted to do a threadripper build, wanted to try optane (as the boot drive, later regretted it after reading more. it is zippy though).

I wanted a motherboard with lots of m.2 slots and (maybe?) room for expansion via pcie expander cards. I don't plan on having any spinning storage in this case, and I converted the R6 to open layout.

I also am not super comfortable planning cooling -- I have the AIO cooler for the CPU but otherwise only the fans which came wi

I wrote up a small repo containing all steps from deploying a GKE cluster to logging into Drone. It's not perfect, but I hope my work can save someone else the pain of going through it unsuccessfully.

My first time working with cert-manager, I found getting the end to end flow up and running a bit difficult. I recently wanted to try out different self-hosted CI/CD tools (starting with drone) which all require setting up ingress with TLS, so it seemed like a great opportunity to hammer this out once and for all. The official cert-manager demo works although the details are a

All of these individually are on ebay for around ~$200 (the rack a touch less on Amazon). Local pickup preferred, I'd really like to avoid shipping. Seriously, if you can pick these up or have them dropped off to you locally make me an offer. If you really can't make me an offer tell me what you want anyway. Anyone looking to jumpstart a cheap lab in the Seattle area? :)

Edit: All claimed! Thanks guys!

CLAIMED All 3 of the R410s have:

  • 2 x Quad Core 2.40GHz E5620 Processors
  • 32GB (8 x 4GB) Memory
  • PERC 6/i
  • 2 have iDRAC express, 1 has enterprise
  • 2 have single 500W PSU, 1 has dual of the same PSU

Hey all,

On the recommendation of a coworker picked up a Microtik router a while back and loved it. I needed to pick up some network gear for my homelab and decided to go with them again. I did a search on previous threads and didn't find much in the way of details of lab setups using their products.

Specifically wondering:

- What devices do you have, and what is the arrangement of these in your network?

- Why did you go for Microtik over other brands, if you have a strong preference. It seems like an uncommon choice in these parts.

- Which, if any, of their devices would you recommend either buying or staying away from? Specifically the desktop and rackmount routers and switches, bu
