On Tuesday I go back to work after 10 months on maternity leave, I can’t believe it’s over and how fast it’s gone. I’ve had the best time even the most stressful days with my son beats working.

My son is nearly 10 months old, and everyday over the last few weeks I have cried about leaving him for work. There’s a few reasons

  1. the thought of going from spending 24/7 with my son to only a few hours a day. He also has to go to nursery for 3 half days a week, I feel like this is so much for such a little baby. He went to his settling in season last week and came out hyperventilating which made me feel awful and I’ve cried about loads. The nursery itself is amazing, got good reviews, amazin

What is everyone’s opinions on this scenario I’m not sure what to do.

My husbands uncle has passed away and his funeral is in a few weeks. For context, his mother and my husband hasn’t spoken to her sisters for 20 years and therefore the sisters husband (my husbands uncle) for 20 years. My MIL found out about the funeral through a friend. My MIL and my husband want to go to the funeral but they want me to come too.

We have a 10 month old. I’ve just gone back to work, the funeral is on my day off but I haven’t got any childcare at all.

I was thinking of attending the wake only. What’s everyone opinion on this please:
Is it rude to just attend the wake? - I just don’t want to ruin the

Anyone else absolutely hateeee those hen dos where you rent a massive manor/Airbnb and then… just stay in it for the entire weekend?

I went to one where, granted, I was 18 weeks pregnant so obviously I wasn’t drinking, but I genuinely think I would’ve found it boring even if I wasn’t 😂

We paid £450 EACH for 3 nights, had to share rooms, and there were 17 of us. Then on top of that everyone had to chip in £50 each for food and alcohol AND pay separately for all the activities. I only paid £25 towards the food/alcohol because I wasn’t drinking, but even if I had been, they didn’t even have the drinks I actually liked.

We left the house ONCE the entire weekend for one activity and

A lot of shit has gone down between me and my mother in law to the point I don’t see or have a relationship with her and she’s not welcome in my house which is a very new development. This came from an argument we had where she threatened to never buy toys for my son again (he was 6 month old at the time)

My mil has never been interested in her one and only grandchild, she’s only ever been interested in her own son. She’s met my son maybe 8 times and he’s 9 months old.

I have told my mil before I don’t like her trying to buy my son as she doesn’t bother with him but then will turn up with a lot of junk for him. Her new thing is getting him clothes. However, yes this sounds like me being

Can I ask do mil (mog) usually match the bridal party in the UK?

Me and my mil have a very rocky relationship, my partner also doesn’t speak to his mother and is low contact. Hes refusing to walk her down the aisle beforehand and in his eyes just another guest.

A month ago we had a massive argument where I did lose my patience and shout at her over something she said in spite towards my 4 month old son. We have really spoke since. I was meant to go shopping with her for her mog dress but she never asked me to go so I didn’t.

She asked my partner what colours to avoid for her dress, he specially said white and blue. White because duh it’s a wedding and blue because the bridesmaids are i

I just hate that people park in these spaces without a child. It’s so selfish and inconsiderate. Before I had my son I never parked in them, I only parked in them from about 32 weeks pregnant as I physically couldn’t get in or out my car without the extra space.

Went to Tesco today and 5 spaces with cars didn’t have children with them. 1 had a blue badge which was fair as all the blue badge spaces were full, that I can understand. The people parked next to me one was a teenager and her boyfriend so I told them it’s a child space and to move her car to my surprise she actually did 🤣 the other women I had a full blown argument with.

Has anyone else had a go at someone for parking without ch

Some back story I got a 5 month old, first grandbaby on both sides. My fil and mil are divorced and have been for 30 years. My husband has always had a rocky relationship with his mum.

My mil has only met the baby 4 times since he’s bee born, doesn’t bother with him at all. She will occasionally text my husband asking for pictures which we have declined as we both feel like if she wanted to see him she can come up.

Anyway my hen do was last weekend, my maid of honour planed it all she organised activities and bars , everything was a suprised except for the date and location. We had to stay overnight.

We were all meant to meet at the hotel at 2pm, my mil bought a friend to the hen do, a

Honestly just need a space to rant.

Some backstory:

My fiancée and mil have never had a good relationship, rocky for years even before I met. The last few years have been the worst. However, I fell pregnant last year after having 2 miscarriages, finally had my baby 4.5 months ago. Had a quick but scary labour that ended in emergency c section. As a result we didn’t have visitors for the first few days other than my mum. My Mil and fil are divorced and have been for 30 odd years.

My Mil has only met my son 5 times, 3 of which she’s gone out of her way to come meet him ( that’s it)! She hasn’t seen him in 2 months and he’s only 4.5 months old. And she lives 15 minute drive away and doesn’

I want to start of by saying I’m 3 months postpartum my baby was not in the car with me at the time. But maybe this explains my clear lack in judgement.

I was driving down a high street in a fairly small ish town and thought the roundabout ahead opens into two lane, I was turning right so I over took a bunch of cars and went on the other side of the road. A car was coming towards me and could have moved over but didn’t. I only noticed at the roundabout that it didn’t open up a bunch of people beeped at me including the car coming towards me. I realised as I got to the small roundabout that it wasn’t but I had to continue onto the roundabout as there was nowhere for me to go.

Am I in the wrong for telling someone off for parking in parent and child space.

I was in Aldi there is 6 child spaces and 9 disabled spaces. All but 1 child space was taken up so I parked there as I have a newborn, all the disabled bays were free. It was quiet as I went mid morning.

As I pulled my pram out, out walks an old man and an old couple. The old couple had a blue badge on their dash. The old man did not, I said to the old man it’s a parent and child space mind. He turned around and said I’m disabled I can park where I want, so I asked where his blue badge was.And also told him he could have parked in the disabled bays which were all empty!

He huffed got in his car and drove of

For some back story been with my partner for 9 years, he’s always even before me had a rocky relationship with his mother. His mum and dad are divorced and his mum stopped him having contact with his dad when he was 8 out of jealously. He got back in contact with his dad when he was 18, at the time he had no education, (his mum allowed him to stop school at 14), was overweight, no job, no friends and very under confident. His dad got him a job, put him in rugby and encouraged him to join the army. His mother didn’t go to his passing out because she told him she feels abandoned. He has a good relationships with his dad, but his mum has done a few things that has strained the relationship.

Heya!

My baby had his 8 week vaccinations today, I’m not anti-vax in anyway, but since the covid jabs I guess I’m a little more scared (I had a bad reaction to Covid jabs, won’t go into it).

I did research before his jabs and thought the benefits out weighted the risks.

Now he’s had them I’m so anxious of SIDS and know I won’t be able to sleep tonight. He had them at 3pm and health visitor said to give him some calpol at 9/10pm on his next feed. So we fed at 10.30 and give him some but he spat a lot out and then threw up (he has reflux). I checked his temp it was 37.4, a little high for him, he usually is 36.5, but not super high or concerning I guess? He usually sleeps through from 10.

does anyone have any under £100 or around that price recommendation for bouncers / chairs for newborn to older specifically for reflux?

He has one at the moment which was a cheaper Amazon one but hates it, his head is never supported and slumps to one side and he always throws up in it like a lot.

Thanks a lot !
