Hopefully this is a simple question.

I’ve been troubleshooting some speed issues on my Verizon FIOS network after adding a POE gateway to my network.

After exhausting everything, I finally deleted and remade the network.

I’m trying to add some new smart plugs that support Matter over Thread (TP-Link EP25P4) and they keep failing to pair. But doing the regular WiFi setup works with no problem.

This wasn’t a problem I had before the network recreate. And I kept my settings. Same SSID, DHCP scope, DNS servers, etc. And most importantly, I am not using my eero as my Thread router, I’m using Apple TVs.

But I know that Matter and Thread require IPV6 technically. And while I had it disabl

I bit on the APP3. I was looking up Black Friday deals on a Mac Mini to use as a home server, but I read that Linux Docker containers won’t play so well with it.

So while I was at Best Buy I saw that the APP3 were on sale. I’ve had all 3 generations and each one has had the same problem. The fit was just never good enough. No matter what size ear tip, or even third party ear tips I’ve tried have not fixed it. They all work well enough, but I’m constantly adjusting the fit and they feel like they’re barely staying in.

Have had the 3s for a few days, and the fit is night and day. They are not moving at all. Even if I’m sweating or move my head, they stay in place. The ANC is noticeably bet

I have been using eeros with FIOS 1Gb service for over 5 years. I started out with the Pro 5s and upgraded about two years ago to the 6 Pros. But because my ONT is in an inconvenient place in my condo (in a closet under the stairs next to a water heater) I wanted a gateway so I could position the APs better.

I finally got a good deal on a used POE Gateway and pulled the trigger. I swapped it out for one of my gateway 6 Pros and have been having slow upload speeds ever since. Not anything crazy slow, but about half what they should be. This is on wired and wireless connections.

The eero speed test from the gateway is fine. The eeros also report a 1Gb link between the eero APs and the GW.

A few weeks ago, I had a FIOS outage that made this question of higher concern to me.

My original understanding was that like every other router I've ever heard of/used, if you lost Internet connectivity, internal routing, DHCP, etc would still work. Didn't matter if the eero was rebooted or whatever, I thought it would just work because why wouldn't it?

Then I found a thread where I was told that if I lost Internet connection and didn't power cycle the eero, internal functionality would be fine. BUT, if I did power cycle and the eero came up without Internet connectivity, that internal functionality wouldn't work. This didn't sound right to me, but I accepted the answer as correct.

I have some questions about the FIOS E3200 WiFi extender. I’m setting up a network in my dads house and I’m considering using this to improve the WiFi coverage in the house and outside. His G3100 is in the basement where the ONT is and I’m thinking that will impact WiFi coverage in the rest of the house and the yard. There are Ethernet jacks on the main level and I plan on connecting it to the G3100 via Ethernet (the topology will go ONT>G3100>unmanaged switch>E3200). He will be using FIOS TV.

My first question is how reliable is it? I could go with a few other options like another mesh router (with the G3100 in bridge mode) but I think using Verizon’s option might be easier since

I recently updated from my old eero pro 5s to eero pro 6 at my house. So since I have these old eeros just sitting around I was wondering if it was possible to use my old eeros as a travel router for hotels and AirBnBs and if so, how would I go about it.

My main concern is with captive portals. At hotels especially, when you join their network they want you to authenticate with a code or something. And since the eeros use an app versus a built in web portal to configure them, I’m wondering how it would work. My plan would be to connect the router to the Ethernet port that most hotels have, but obviously I’d like the option to connect it wirelessly as well.

Should I expect to be able to p

I’m doing my first Nuzlocke for SP, and I’m planning on having Alakazam for the Elite 4. I’m planning on having Psychic/Psyshock, Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, and maybe Focus Blast. But I can’t decide between Psychic and Psyshock for my STAB move.

Most of what Alakazam is good against have high physical defense but on the other hand, the few things that don’t would benefit from having someone like Alakazam who is fast. And it still uses my Special Attack stat so it should still hit hard regardless.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which I should go with, Psychic or Psyshock?

Now with me actually reading the rules on banned Pokemon. See below.

I'm looking for a legit Mew so I don't have to shell out money for the Let's Go games when BD and SP come out. I have some shinies and some Master Balls I can trade. My best ones are below, but let me know if there's something else you want and I might have it.

Shinies:

  • Wailmer
  • Pinsir
  • Falinks
  • Scyther
  • Azumarill (with Huge Power)
  • Electabuzz
  • Pikachu
  • Aerodactyl
  • Alcremie

Here's a picture of the shinies I have to make it easier:

EDIT: Took some pictures with the shinies I have and cleaned up formatting.

I recently bought a NAS and have it in my home office nook. The noise from the drives has me considering moving it. But the “best” place to put it where I can still hardwire it but not hear it would be in the closet under the stairs which is a concrete room but also has a water heater in it.

So I’m thinking about moving my gateway eero down there with the NAS (that’s also where my ONT is as well as the junction box where the three Ethernet ports in the condo terminate at) and placing it on an end table about 1.5-2’ tall. That would also allow me to finally enable all the Ethernet ports in the condo and allow me to get away from using MoCA adapters. But it being a concrete room with a big m

Unfortunately it looks like the trade codes for version exclusives are dead so I need some help completing my Sword Pokédex. Would appreciate anyone with some time to help.

Pokémon I need:

Spritzee/Aromatisse (would prefer Aromatisse so I don’t need to trade again to evolve but will take what I can get)

Vullaby

Lunatone

Zamazenta

Pokémon I can offer in trade:

  • Sword exclusives. I have Hydreigon, Kommo-o, Turtonator, Mawile, etc.
  • Dittos (including a Japanese one)
  • Starters

If those don’t work let me know. Can easily do trade backs if that works better, especially for the Zamazenta.

UPDATE: Got the Spritzee and Aromatisse so I’m good there. Still looking for the

Looking to trade and then trade back Scyther holding Metal Coat so I can get Scizor. I can offer to do trade backs for evolutions you need. Don’t have much else to offer, I do have a 4IV Libero Scorbunny but I’m pretty sure that’s common now.

This week I finally managed to find a Sub at what I consider a reasonable price. So I finally have a Sonos Beam+Sub+2 Play:1 set up for my living room.

What should I expect from the system? I added the Sub, and did the TruePlay tuning and I hear a difference with bass, it isn't the type of difference I was expecting with music (haven't gotten to test it with movies yet).

Are there any recommended settings or placement I should be looking at to see if I have everything set up right?

I got my iPhone 8 Plus on Friday, and just need a sanity check more than anything else. I'm noticing two issues that seem hardware related.

My first issue is that the screen seems really yellow. I compare it with my iPad Pro 10.5" both with True Tone enabled and the iPhone definitely seems to have a yellowish tint to it, even when they're both in the same room. It doesn't look this way all the time though, it seems to vary based on where I'm at, which would make sense if it was a hardware issue since it changes screen temperature based on the light sensors. I was initially thinking it was that old issue where the glue is still setting since these come directly from China on launch day,
