Hi, I like

I like electro. From Robyn over Die Form over Karlheinz Stockhausen to Merzbow. I'm a sucker for a catchy tune. I like lots of noise. I'm partial to female voices.

Can you find me some Asian stuff perhaps similar to the three above that you think I'd like?

I would normally post this type of question in r/cnc but I think this is better.

I'm a CNC technician and my colleague suggested I try my hand at some private project. One colleague of mine made a cannon design, 20 copies. I thought I'd try making a mini crossbow.

I normally operate a 3-axis standard Doosan mill. I'm pretty good with it. I can utilize my workshop after hours for the project, I only need to pay for the material, which brings me to this post.

I need suggestions for the materials. I imagine I'll make the stock out of 2333, stainless steel. What about the string? The bow? Firing mechanism? Are there any suggestions you have?

I'm thinking an "inverted vise" thing here. Pulli

Maybe an annoying question but bear with me.

Machine 3axis mill. Control Fanuc 21i.

As an operator when I go into POS I can access a page showing the spindle load (MOBI I think). My old colleague has instructed me that you can keep an eye on this to determine if things are running smoothly.

Do these percentages correspond to readable variables in the system? Could you program a macro with a check that would exit with an error message if the load is too high?

Gentlemen,

I've been gifted a Kennametal 3 flute 32mm end mill by my boss. I am running it at Vc225 and F0.8 per tooth. (S2240 F5400.) Plain steel (2172). Max Ap is 1.5mm (I never go over or under 1.0.)

I need some advice on how to use this thing. Right now I just use it to do straight lines. I'm wary of turning inside the material, and I don't know if I'm right or not.

So I have some questions:

1, are there any issues with changing direction while in contact with the material? I'm talking abruptly (x100, y50, x-100, y-50 etc.) Does this create more stress on the tool? How much to decrease feed in that case? Near to 100% contact is assumed at all times; I've heard the tool likes that.

Machine Doosan Mynx 750/50. Control Fanuc 21i.

I wonder if there is a way to stop the spindle while in motion to reference point. Trying to tinker with the code but no matter what, it insists on simply stopping and waiting for it to stop rotating.

This isn't a biggie but I'm mass producing and it takes a few seconds to stop from 4500rpm. Every second counts. Cycle time is 2m9s.

Anyone?

This is a not-so-hypothetical question, please bear with me.

If you place a tap in a non-floating holder and then run a tapping cycle that does not employ M29 (or is set to rigid tapping) in plastic, what would be the result?

I seem to remember there is a code for this but I can't for my life remember or find it by googling...

The case in point: I want to issue Tx and then wait until the tool magazine has finished rotating (next tool is T) and then issue M6.

How?

This is for a general M6 override macro.

System is Fanuc 21i.
