Hello,

I bought an automatic transmission from the junkyard, and messing with it today I realized it has slight, very very slight play when you grab it and pull it up, push it down, and move it side to side. I've read that this is normal and will become sturdy when it's mated to the pilot bearing, and I've read that it is an indicator of a fried input shaft bearing. What's the truth for the Civic, and should I look to get my money back and hunt for another transmission?

Hello,

I just bought an automatic transmission from a junkyard, and after working on it for a bit I've noticed the input shaft has a very slight movement up, down, left, and right and makes a tapping noise when it touches. I've read that this is normal and should become sturdier once it's mated to the pilot bearing, and I've read that any play whatsoever indicates a bad input shaft bearing. What is the truth of the matter?

Asking for a friend, of course.

My NC Miata, being the tank it is, survived a slide into a ditch with only minor damage to the front bumper as far as I can tell. I intend to clean the car up, remove the front bumper, and reevaluate the situation from there, but I am scared that my airbags will deploy while I'm tinkering around the area. Am I paranoid, or is this a realistic concern? Should I unplug the battery anyway?

Thanks!

I'm planning on moving onto neck building in my "career", and I probably shouldn't pay big bucks for cool materials just to produce a mediocre neck . So far I've looked on lmii, ebay, and amazon, and neck woods seem to be able the same price all around ($12 for a fretboard blank, $20ish for a neck blank, $12 for enough fretwire). Are there any other places I could find inexpensive, but suitable materials for a neck build?

Hey! I'm having some trouble finding any PDF router templates for a strat tremolo. Specifically Wilkinson, if possible. If anyone could help me or maybe point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!
