Hi Electricians, I have a century home in North America (specific details can be provided in DMs).

The whole house has "updated" electricals from it's first construction (built "before" electricity; then ungraded to knob-and-tube; then "modernized" some time thereafter).

One particular room in the house has an Ikea-looking light fixture with 3 bulbs, and is hooked up to a dimmer-switch.

When I first moved in, I replaced the old dull incandescent bulbs (x3) with LEDs; with no immediate signs of trouble.

About a year later, 1 of 3 started "strobing" or pulsing (1 second bright, 1 second dull, repeat); and ultimately burned out. When I tried to replace that bulb, th

Anybody know the song from the end of Fairies? It’s either a Scottish or Irish reel; but damned if I can’t get an answer from my smartphone!

I just got off the phone with Enbridge.

ENBRIDGE IS RAISING THE RATE by 50% IN MY AREA

• Was 20¢/m^3

None of this matters a lot during the summer, because the only thing most of us are heating is our bath/shower.

The winter is going to be another story altogether though, as we start firing up our furnaces for the winter.

Good luck, everybody!

So I'm in Canada and got fed-up waiting for Disney to share Season 3 with us, and stalked down season 3 with the strongest possible computer protection I could, and I've made it up to S03E03; when I came across this reference, that I never in a million years expected to find in Bluey of all places.

There was a WWI movie made in 1981 called Gallipoli, that I didn't know anyone else in the world remembers.

Mel Gibson needs to run fast, for WWI reasons

He needs a pep talk

Jack: How fast can you run?

Archy: As fast as a leopard greyhound.

Jack: How fast are you going to run?

Archy: As fast as a leopard greyhound.

I love the names Bandit comes up with, while he's playing with his kids. But I mostly assume they're all complete nonsense, like "Charalanda" and "Romeo McFlourish".

But Telemachus - it turns out - is a real one.

Telemachus was the son of Odysseus, in Homer's Odyssey.

I have no idea how much effort went into the reference, but there's some really stretchy parallels in there, I guess.

Telemachus (classic) was stuck waiting around for his dad to return, while a crowd of interlopers (suitors) accumulated around his mother.

Are there humans in the Bluey Cinematic Universe?

I can't remember which episode, but Bandit is chatting with someone, and he mentions humans.

If humans exist, where are they? And are they titans, or dog-sized?

What about sheep?

Hi all,

so I've been dreading David Goodwillie's inevitable departure for years. Yea we all know of his 'problematic' past; but I feel like we've already gotten over it. Because if you haven't, you're probably not looking at this sub in the first place.

So. Sounds like Raith will be tearing up his contract.

Do we want him back?

I do, but apparently I'm a pretty horrible human being. Val McDermid cancelled her subscription to my OnlyFans ages ago, for instance.

What about you? Do we want him back? Or try our chances without him?
