Greetings, people and otherwise of Occult Magic Online! I represent the Mourning Brothers of The Remembrance, an academic and religious fellowship that strives to recover the human story from the devouring maw of history.

One of our undertakings has hit something of a snag. We've been experimenting with new methodologies in the past few decades - controversial stuff, but promising enough to be worth the schisms! Several years ago, we noticed in some records of text discovered in the Abyss's Library region contained snippet of symbols that, upon analysis by those our patron has saw fit to bestow the

To whom it may concern;

I am Windsor Ontario, the lord of Windsor, Ontario. Though I do not speak on their behalf, I have the honor to state that this missive has been reviewed by the various Lords of Detroit and the heads of the families unaffiliated with any lordship party to the Lake St. Clair Conventions of 1961, and has received their unanimous approval.

It has come to the attention of the Standing Committee, the body responsible for the continued monitoring of matters covered by the Accords, that this website has been used by multiple individuals to coordinate acts contrary to the intere

I've got guns I don't need, and a bit of spare time. I figure might be some of you could put these to better use than I will. I don't want money for these, mind you. I'd like something that, ideally, can help me with one of the various non-combat uses of the practice. I also don't intend to do delivery - if you want one of these, you'll have to arrange to meet up with me somewhere I have a reason to be anyway. For prospective customers outside North America, this probably means you'll need to come over here. It's... difficult for me to get on a plane or a boat as is, let alone with a firearm.

Note that the guns on this list may not be (and in some cases, are almost certainly not) legal for

Yesterday, an arrow with a knapped stone head came through my window, bounced off my torso, and embedded itself in a wall. The arrow was quite upset by this. You see, it had never failed to bring down what it was fired at before. It appears to be the moment triumph of a shot hitting home, minus the shooter. Failing to hit home hurt the poor thing. It tried a few more times before I figured out how to bind it. It hits fairly hard. I had to use a few day's budget of stockpiled power to keep my wards functioning.

Today, I brought it to an augur I know. I figured that on the off chance someone sent this Other at me deliberately, it would be good to know about. Took some doing, but she was able

To cut to the chase; I've been working with an Other for the past few days, and she's openly seeking a practitioner to take her on as a familiar. Usually, I wouldn't even consider making a decision like this without a longer period of time to think about it and do my research, but circumstances are a tad dire. The job I'm on has been significantly more violent than I anticipated, and I'm looking for a way to reduce the collateral damage. In retrospect, assuming my connection-manipulating target wouldn't force the locals to defend her once it became clear one of them had hired me to get rid of her was foolish. I think giving the Other what she wants could get me what I need to wrap this up

Finished my first run of Suzerain. A blind run, not that anyone other than the devs has actually figured out the ramifications of each choice you can make yet. Anton "GigaBRayne" Rayne decided to be a social democrat, pushing for democracy, economic/social progress and the nation's security, working with anyone and everyone who could ensure as many necessary reforms as possible happened as fast as possible.

Things that went well

I reformed Sordland from an autocratic sham into a democracy balanced between the legislative, executive and judicial branches.

I crushed the terrorist paramilitaries of Young Sordland and the Red Guards, plus moving responsibility for policing from the mi

So I (30-ish M) am at a coworker's (30-ish M) house to help him out with a pet project of his. Somehow we get to talking about prisons. Now, my coworker is a giant bleeding heart liberal (but hey, Canucks am I right?) and got very upset at the idea of private prisons. When I tell him how much cheaper it is and that it's in his best interests as a taxpayer he gets so mad that he flips the table and demands I get off his property. So fine, I get up to leave, and I step on a piece of broken glass. At this point my coworker, who I'd had swear not to hurt me while I was on his property a few years back (you can never be too careful), is forsworn and his demense starts to collapse. So I figure hey

In the discord, a few of us got to speculating as to how old the Hungry Choir is. So I got to thinking about how this could be determined. My answer? To count the waifs.

We don't know how many waifs there are, so right out the gate this still teaches us nothing. And I'm vaguely aware that Wildbow might have said something about not making sure all of the statistics in his work are as intended at some point, so even if it were this probably still would teach us nothing. However, I've never let realizing that an idea doesn't work stop me. So then, how many waifs can we expect the Hungry Choir to generate (and how many people can we expect it to erase) a year?

We know that the number of peop
