I think I've had a pretty persistent fear for alot of my life, and I've spend a good portion of my life (now at 27) trying to pick the right thing to do I guess.

For some reason I've had it in my head that things get really different as an adult, from 30 onwards. That somehow I wont be the same person or something, or that my experience of life will change drastically in some way that I wasnt counting on in the earlier rest of my life.

Is this any kind of valid concern? I get that there are minor changes, like shifting perspective on what matters, degrading body, slightly increased feeling that time is going by faster because more is familiar. Is there anything else?

Like at a very fun

(Yes I posted 2 separate asks, hopefully that's allowed)

If I like realistic sci-fi movies like Interstellar, Arrival, and The Martian, what else would I like?

I like movies about the scientific, methodical struggle of real possible (if exaggerated) challenges. It doesn't necessarily have to be about space, and doesn't need to be extremely serious in tone.

I also would consider Gravity to be similar, but I didn't enjoy it.

If the whole idea is that manipulation is supposed to be subtle and you're not able to tell it's happening, what actually constitutes manipulation and what is just sharing opinions and ideas?

How do I know someone is manipulating me? If I'm aware of my own emotions and regularly making sure that what I'm doing is in line with what I want, is that all that's needed to protect yourself?

If someone is provoking an emotional reaction, but the reaction is you being happy about doing something you feel is right, is that still manipulation?

Where is the line between being manipulated into making a decision and just making the decision yourself based on info?

Maybe alternatively, how do I not necessarily tell people what to do, but explain what I want in a thorough way where I can be sure people see what I'm trying to achieve before agreeing or disagreeing?

I have huge hangups about controlling people. I hate the idea, its scummy, and feels like I'm taking advantage of people. It's the closest thing I can picture as "evil" in the world. Any control I have over other people is time they've wasted not thinking for themselves, and that's only a benefit for me.

However, I've somehow been given a leadership position. I have to start making decisions for people around me, and suddenly people are looking to me for advice and guidance. Up until recentl

This is really hard for me to explain. I have many times where I'm trying to get at a specific thought and figure out a way to relay it to someone else.

The thought is more specific than the words I know are capable of relaying, so I have to come up with a way to explain myself instead. Trying to do this is difficult sometimes, and the more difficult it is, the more insistent and intense this emotion is.

Funnily, the situation of me trying to explain this situation and get the word is describing the exact situation where the word would help.

Does anyone know what I mean?

So, I may have personally issues. I've had a stressful childhood, and I dont think I've ever truly relaxed.

Recently, I think I found out why, and I have pretty powerful want to stop worrying about things and relax for once, for a bit, to recharge, but it feels a bit like dreaming. (Maybe I'm just really tired)

When I sleep, eventually because I'm no longer tired, I wake back up. With relaxing and zoning out, it feels intentional, and not based in a need to "fill a sleep meter", so I dont know what makes you stop I guess.

I worry a bit that if I relax like this, I'll sort of get lost. It's a bit scary, I've always been high-strung and on alert, to the point where that just became me and

I understand that copyright or other IP protections can take down content based on the actual content of the file, like if you post a book on a filesharing site, but can the same be said for encrypted content?

If you encrypt a bunch of videos or games and just openly share the key, does anyone have the ability to take it down?

I'm sure if it actually went to court and it was proven that decrypting the files actually lead to the protected content, it could be judged to take it down, but before it is reviewed by a court, is there anything that allows IP owners to make a claim?

I have no gauge for this. I know I'm definitely someone who solves problems and doesn't know when someone is just looking to vent, but I don't know when to do one thing or the other.

When I just listen and ask questions, I dont know when it's over. I'm interested, but in lieu of being allowed to show I care by putting effort to making the person feel better, I dont know how to "be there" for them effectively.

At some point I run out of questions, and my brain just screams at me "okay now fix it", and I don't know where to go other than to say something dumb like "yeah that sucks".

I'm introverted and don't feel the need to spill my problems to other people, so I dont have that "skill" bui

For background, I've been a dev for 5 years, and within the past 6 months, have transitioned to a solution architect.

For my entire career, I've been stressing the need for documentation, proper planning and testing, basically time to do things right.

The company I'm at is very fast paced. My team has not (until very recently with the change of management) had time to actually do any of the proper work. We basically had our entire operations systems fueled by tech debt, to the point where I became convinced this was just a strategy.

Now that I'm more heavily involved in planning and working out the details of larger projects, I have PMs asking me to document things, and stressing to me in

We give religions alot of freedom, ideas themselves should be free so I get that noone should be censored or punished for having or spreading an idea.

However, there does start being an issue when you spread your idea as truth to be adhered to rather than an idea to be followed and researched.

Mormons, for example, used to be quite certain that black people were literally evil and unable to get into heaven. Jehovah's Witnesses have made multiple end of the world proclamations that have caused unneeded damage and panic.

If a religion has to be given special privileges to allow the ability to enforce their followers to conform to specific rules, then shouldnt there be some kind of punishmen
