Would it be wise to have septoplasty (on its own, I don't want reduction of the turbinates as my breathing exercises have kept them mostly in check and they rarely bother me now I also fear empty nose syndrome) with a red and inflamed septum?
My hope is that ENT surgeons will one day see turbinates for what they are: marvellous structures that are supposed to inflate and deflate without being interfered with, except on a natural basis (Buteyko, etc)
There is already medical literature that warns against doing anything to the turbinates and the attention shouldn't be focused on them.
Its said that this horrific condition thats been done to you is incredibly rare. Their laughable metric for "rare" is 1 in 1000. If it were 1 in 1,000,000, I'd consider that rare. Even with "1 in 1000" I think the cases are under-reported, have varying degrees and even with complaints the surgeons dismiss it because they don't believe it exist
Almost a year ago I got Covid I lost my sense of smell and taste so I religiously did Smell Training. Around the end of May is when I got it back mostly. Around September I get a cold and it takes it away again. Smell training again. It mostly comes back.
Now at the beginning of April, its gone away again, for no real reason. Look at my last post.
I feel like this shit is by design!
So I seem to have non allergic rhinitis and I have a deviated septum. The deviated septum hasn't bothered me until now. Whats odd is sometimes there is a regular stream of air in the exhale when my nose is clear.
Some on here have said that a septoplasty has helped the congestion.
My problem is that a complication of the surgery is permanent anosmia. I've already fought with every fucking fibre of me to get my smell and taste back (to some degree) and I can't lose it again.
Also the way the rhinitis affects me is that the septum wall is always red and inflamed looking. I already have the symptoms of nasal crusting and I don't want to make it worse. I'm worried that the septoplasty which
Last night the acid splashed up and went into the upper areas. I noticed I'm worse in winter which is why the reflux is acting up again. The tube is swollen and I can't open it. Music is everything to me and I'm scared of losing my hearing or having it diminished. I'm tired of all this shit. I just want it to be ok.
I've been through all sorts of horrible stuff since August last year, non stop. I'm tired now.
I've been dealing with traumatic shit since August last year, non stop with no breaks in-between and its wore me down.
Stressful, condescending college course.
In December developed a black mark on toenail that I was deeply worried could be a melanoma. It wasn't, but the stress caus
I've been telling myself that its not empty nose syndrome. (because any further inkling that it somehow is, just drives me further to the edge, I've already got a suicide plan in place) as that is a permanent condition due to complications of nasal and sinus surgery which I have not received.
I'm unable to contact r/Tenseventeen1701/ who seems to have since recovered, about how she dealt with it.
Am I going to be ok?
I'm doing this because I've already written out my Last Will & Testament.
I can either recover (which I prefer and hope for) or I have to go I'm afraid.
I'm at my breaking point now. I'm currently working up the courage to kill myself. I think others have recovered from this symptom. But I need the advice and reassurance, because I'm struggling now more than ever. I can't live like this.
Before I got Covid in April, I finally realised I had so much to live for and my trauma and depression was healing.
I hope so much that I can get there again, but I really need some guidance.
I can't hold on forever.
In April I got sick with Covid, ever since I've had nasal congestion that alternates nostrils. Only recently I was noticing days where things were "ok". The congestion was lesser and on occasion I'd wake up with both nostrils open.
This morning I woke up to find that one nostril was clogged. It has a dull ache and feels like the airway is closed off, not just the nostril.
I tried to be a better person and it I feel like its all my fault. I can't do this anymore. I can't fucking do it anymore. Before I got covid, in April all my trauma and pain was beginning to heal and I was getting better. I'm too sick and tired of this shit.
I'm going to wake up tomorrow and the next day and so on and
I've been suffering from nasal congestion that alternates between nostrils since I got covid in April.
Now, waking up this morning, I can't seem to feel air traveling through my nostril despite being open. What the fuck is going on?
Edit: I really fucking need help now. I can't fucking do this anymore!
COME ON! I need to fucking know! Right now!
I've noticed that along with this I have symptoms that match with IBS (mucus in stool, stool discolouration, stool state switching between constipation and diarrhoea) and according to one article both IBS and vasomotor rhinitis seem to be connected with the origin being neurogenic (nervous System) inflammation

Some I've talked to have said that their congestion has improved via Buteyko breathing or lifestyle and dietary changes.
Are there any success stories out there?
There are people recovering from SOB, heart rate issues, GI Symptoms, DPDR (my biggest concern), brain f
