Hello everyone,

My husband and I are planning a long distance move (20hr flight) in the not so distant future and im particularly anxious in planning around travelling with our whippet for the first time.

background info:

-she’s regularly taken with us to work 1+ hr car ride each way - she doesn’t like the car as she gets carsick sometimes but shes learning to lay down and sleep and it helps a lot

- when we don’t bring her to work, she is used to being at home in a crate anywhere from 6-14hrs (very rarely that long unless it’s an emergency)

- she sleeps overnight in a crate and is very happy and comfortable

- she’s the best behaved girl and sleeps around 20hrs per day espe

Hello everyone,

Were planning our move to malaysia in the next year or so and we’ve been told there are a few high rise condos in Desa Park that allow dogs but there are many mixed opinions on which condos actually allow medium size dogs rather than small ones.

our plan is to rent for the first year and then purchase a landed house when we’re fully decided on the area so we can save as much as possible towards our purchase.

do we have a chance at living in a high rise condo or will renting a landed house be the smartest option to avoid headache? Is it much more expensive to rent a landed house?

also, were not set on DPC - that was a recommendation as we won’t be working so we’re not tie

I previously mentioned in one of my other posts that my dog has had issues going to the dog park and that they’re super protective of our puppy - well, it turns out they just don’t like other breeds I guess they find them threatening.

Took my dogs to an off leash sighthound meet and they had the times of their lives. anytime a non sighthound happened to walk by, they created a small annoyance with the other hounds and my dogs would steer clear..

It turns out this was pretty common amongst the other owners….

I posted in another sub but thought id try here as well.

Im redoing the floor in my indoor sauna - it’s about 40 years old -I’m looking to put cedar planks on the floor.

I took off all the subway tile and ground down the mortar to the cement to form a smooth surface and I’m left with cement dust. I used a shop vac to get what I could, I will use a sweeping compound and I want to treat the floor before putting down the cedar planks. should I lay down new concrete over the existing or is there something i can paint over the existing concrete to seal it?

Normally I would coat with an epoxy paint but given that this is a sauna - I’m concerned with breathing in fumes for something that is

We got our whippet Croia back in early March. She’s a 1YR old female intact and she will follow us room to room and lay near us but if we pet her too much or speak to her too much, she’ll stand up and walk away and pace. I also noticed she licks her lips, not a lot but enough for me to notice.

One thing we know she loves is our 8 month old Italian greyhound puppy - she loves to play and run with him and is very protective over him during walks.

I’ve never owned a whippet before - with most of my animals, I’m gentle with them and they just learn to love me but I can’t read this girl. She is totally calm and collected like a whippet and does zoomies outside and barks and growls when she

Hey everyone - our puppy dolce is now shy of 7 months old and we want to start taking proper steps to ensure he matures into a model citizen.

Hes a wonderful dog and full of zest and energetic and eager to please but there are times we know hes exhausted and just can’t settle from overstimulation.

It’s hard for us to settle because weve got 4 sphynx cats and a whippet so the gang is together most of the time. There are times he seeks out quiet and other times I need to get him to focus.

That being said, hes still a puppy and he’s got a long way to grow, I’m not expecting miracles here, just making sure I’m doing the best that I can to help him grow into a healthy boy.

He sleeps in our

I posted recently about the 9 month old whippet I went to see that ended up being a really poorly socialized. Following that visit, my husband and I arranged a visit with our IGs breeder as she also bred whippets just to see some of her adults and temperaments…

well, we fell in love with a 1 year old lady and the breeder is bringing her to our home this coming weekend to make her transition a little more comfortable. She was a sold puppy but the person never came to pick her up after 6 months so the breeder didn’t feel comfortable anymore and was looking for the right home.

we went to visit and had the most refreshing experience - she was shy but incredibly sweet and just overall a happ

my husband and I just went to see an (experienced and well known) breeder in the possibility of adopting a 9 month old whippet male and we had the weirdest experience.

We already have an Italian greyhound and know that whippets and greyhounds can be shy but this particular dog was so extremely skittish, we sat across the room calmly, trying to offer treats from a distance and the pup stopped taking treats and would growl and bark at us after 30 minutes of calmly sitting. any small noise, the pup would jump out of fear and laid at the breeders feet - we decided that he likely wasn’t the right fit for us.

we realize that this breed does require socialization so we’ve socialized our It
