Title pretty much speaks for itself.

Whenever us kooky magical-thinking liberals mention the various failures and atrocities of socialISTS were told it wasn't Real Socialism and doesn't count no tag backs.

However, we are ALSO told that Capitalism kills and enslaves more people than the Not Real Marxists ever did and that the Soviets made faster progress than anyone ever....

If the Soviets weren't Real Socialists and they made all these great advancements then Yay Capitalism?

What gives, Real Socialists? Which parts of the Soviet Union/ China/ Cambodia/ Vietnam count and which don't?

Since The Socialistisms can't be criticized lest it be a "straw man" although ALSO can't be question

For all intents and purposes "ancap" isn't even a thing. What's known as "ancap" is little more than a constellation of ethical theories that are built from SVT (therein may lie the answer) and support free markets. Rothbardian ethics arent even a very dramatic departure from the deontology of socialists, just the addition of property rights.

Even if we widen our scope to "free market advocates" in general, we are still talking about a "movement" that wants to be left alone and generally even advocates shunning democracy as a fools errand.

So why are internet socialists so utterly fixated on ancaps who mean so little? I suspect it's because ancaps openly subscribe to such a strict appl

For the few socialists actually attracted to the opposite sex, how much of the victimhood and fatalism that your ideology espouses do you teach to your children? That is, do you teach your children that they have no hope of ever controlling their own lives? That they are doomed to a life of wage slavery unless there's a revolution? That their actions and outcomes are largely dictated not by their own choices and preferences but by the invisible hand of The Capitalist System?

How do you talk to/ plan on talking to your children about their dismal future that they have almost no control over? If you were born to socialist parents, what did your parents tell you about your choices in life?

Ostensibly some socialists occasionally leave their homes and something is keeping the unwashed masses from taking them. I suspect socialists will say "well sure it's The State now but in True Socialism it will be X" (which, sidebar, if you've ever had a B&E at your business or home it's FUCKING HILARIOUS to suggest that The State did anything at any time to prevent it or will do anything to get you compensation). How it works in real life is that I put locks on my door, cameras around the perimeter, a gun in my nightstand and pay for insurance and when a break-in happens I A - defend my property if I'm home and B - file an insurance claim if I'm not. At no time did The State do an

No really, they did. I kinda thought the whole seasteading meme was one of the most juvenile parts of ancap philosophy but according to this article, a "pilot island" should be completed by 2022.

SOCIALIST TRIGGER WARNING In an utterly ironic twist of fate, a non-white woman seems to be one of the head researchers, wants the government to "only be a service provider", and intends to allow currency and private ownership.

For instance, in Scandinavia where equality and collectivism are valued highly, the average property owner has less than they probably would here in the US but more people have "free education", etc.

What other opportunity costs does a society placing high value on equality over property rights have and why are or aren't you concerned with them?

How many of you oppose welfare?

Pretty much none of you. You all explicitly support it "until Real Socialism occurs" but um, since that hasn't happened in two centuries and itsnt likely to happen any time soon, in all practicality you are all just progressives with an extra dose of moralizing and finger wagging.

Literally nobody is confused that the government isn't the Socialist Fantasyland that socialists advocate. The argument is either A - Nanny Statism is the only way that certain goals of The Socialistisms can be actualized in what most of us refer to as Real Life or B - Even if you all fantasize about some nebulously defined Worker Controlled Society, you still all practically

First of all, "might makes right" is a stupid and anachronistic axiom. Rights are not the same thing as "what you can get away with" whether you're a deontologist or not. If you rape and murder someone and never get caught you aren't "right", you just got away with it.

Second, we can prove for certain that the ultimate outcome of every action is not decided by who can physically submit who and it occurs on every level. Not every person with a gun excercises their legal right to use lethal force even when given the option. Much more dramatically, the entire world could be split up between the US and maybe a handful of other countries. But it's not? But I thought "might makes right"? What'

"A coat has the use value of keeping you warm literally anywhere. But a coat only has an exchange value in a generalized commodity exchange economy. Calling exchange value just a type of use value obfuscates that reality."

Before explaining why this is wrong, I'd like to point out the exceedingly ironic use of the word "obfuscation" immediately following the attempt to classify things as only being able to have different types of mutually exclusive value.... Ha.

This statement is the perfect example of how socialists not only misunderstand what "subjective value" mea

Unions serve to protect The Workers not only from their evil overlord bosses but from "unfair" competition from other workers/ firms. Not only do protectionist policies protect The worker from having their job outsourced or made obsolete, it protects third-world children from be hired into sweatshops owned by first world firms. Seems like an all-around win for socialists to me, no?

What's the significant difference between this and what Trump advocates to protect American Jobs^TM?

Seems to me like both have analogous effects on a different scale since they're more or less the same concept. The Socialists of yesteryear most certainly supported protectionist policies for The Worker from the

It seems that commies almost categorically believe that if you can't empathize with Marx then you can't understand or criticize the LTV.

Well, assuming most commies here haven't read Dianetics, are you all pretty agnostic about the scientific usefulness of E Meters? After all, the E Meter is just a way to empirically study a person's moral wholeness....

Since nothing can be taken for granted in this "debate" forum, the analogy being made is that commies almost daily declare that nobody can criticise any of the individual pet theories of Marx because they haven't attempted to wholly empathize with Marx and put everything in context of everything else he's ever written.

If you'll notice above that comment, u/specterofsandersism, the unironic BernieBot tankie, states that "Time Preference" is just some Bourgois moral construct diabolically crafted to "chastise" the poors for bad choices.

While it's never surprising to see a single unhinge zealot commie (or fascist) making totally bizarre claims in here, what does surprise me is when others betin agreeing with them and I don't even dare go back and look at the karma awarded to that statement lest I lose what little faith I have in the ability of today's younger generation to think at all.

Several recent studies have shown us that an intact nuclear famility is an even stronger predictor of academic success and avoiding crime than starting out with money.

What does this mean about all your theories regarding inequality driving crime and social mobility when the data actually shows us that the mere presence of a two-parent household is the best predictor of success regardless of household income?

Why are poor kids in two-parent homes doing better than middle class kids with single parents if inequality is what drives class mobility? Why is the single best pre

Kinda seems like this place is little more than a Marxist and fascist shitshow recently where half the time they are agreeing with each other and gatekeeping language rather than debating (which makes sense since they are both quasi-Platonic ideologies that place the sacrosanctness of ideological Forms over post-enlightenment logic and empiricism).

I'm sure cuck mods will delete this as they seem to removed any observation of their raging dumpster fire but wondering if any other non-fascists, non-commies find even entertainment value here anymore.
