So I escaped my abusive family when I was 17. I moved out with all the fanfare of cops and my family coming to my many jobs to intimidate me. I finished high school top of my class, gained an academic scholarship that covers almost everything at a great state school, and I got accepted into my major of choice. I dreamed of studying neuroscience since I was 13, now I'm 21 years old, and I worked my butt off to get into a lab. So now I work two jobs on top of going to school full-time! Ask me anything.

I finally made the solid decision to move out of my parent's house. I was gripping with this choice for months because, in all honesty, I am scared as hell to do it. But I can't live with them anymore. My parents are awful people who never truly cared about me. There should have been a lot of breaking points for me, a lot of eye-openers. What really cemented my decision was the day my brother wrecked my car. My parents supposedly got that car for me as a graduation gift, signs with my name on it, and everything. Yet, I couldn't take it to college because "Your brother will need it more". I put some money into the car too, LED lights, new heavy-duty car mats, full center counsel of necessiti
My dad pointed a weapon at me and pulled the trigger. I screamed and put my hands up to shield my face because I didn't have time to register it all, I just heard the snap of the hammer and reacted. When I felt no pain and looked at my father, he had the most disgusted look on his face. He said, "Do you really think I would point a loaded weapon at my own child?" I just looked at him and moved on, I'm used to him doing aggressive things (throwing things, screaming, physical intimidation, etc.) but he's never done anything that could have been this severe. Now that I'm going to college for the first time, I'm scared of what I'll come back to. I keep making plans to move in with my boyfriend w
Have you ever met someone that was so deeply in love,
they’d find a way to tear the Earth apart to find you?
Every move you made, no matter how graceless,
was regarded as the biggest moment in history.
They would look at you with soft eyes,
conveying that you were the pinnacle of beauty.
That kind of deep intimacy, or rather celestial love,
can only grace this Earth once in a millennium.
I was offered such a grandeur, imperfect as it was.
However, I could not hold onto the life that fate has provided.
What am I if not human?
Others seem to think I'm something else
An ungodly creation from flames of hell
or maybe an angel crafted from clouds
How do I know I am me?
If nothing ever feels real
Time passes by with sunrise
and I'm in the same position, still
Why do I have to be defined?
Because I don't know who I am
Sometimes I just want to die
from the suffocation of ideals
Who am I supposed to be?
And you might say I'm nothing
I'm used to the idea of falling far from your thoughts
I say I don't care, but I'm desperate to be something

These people do the worst
Tainting the dead after their prime
But without their service
we wouldn't have that extra time
They deal with the morbid
Demise defiling their mind
They get a peek at the process
for their inevitable loss of life
The horror is humourous
The irony of it all
As long a necrophile isn't in the morgue,
your grandmother should be well preserved
At first, I forgot a word,
then I forgot a name.
I've forgotten objects.
That's just normal claim.
Next, it was faces,
I couldn't recognize a feature.
I see them every day,
yet something was unfamiliar.
I forgot how to read.
The words looked muddled on a page.
Syllables were so foreign,
how am I supposed to earn a wage?
I think my mind is broken,
I know something isn't right.
Visited the doctor yet,
they can't diagnose my plight.
