For decades, the hardest working tool in our family kitchen has been a flexible, angled, solid (non-slotted and non-perforated) flexible stainless steel turner with wood handle. Similar to a fish spatula / fish turner but without the slots. Flexible, agile, almost sharp with its beveled edge but sturdy enough to scrape a blacktop (for a few decades at least). The perfect tool for a cast iron pan, whether frying meat or flipping pancakes. The flat of the turner comes straight out of the handle with no offset, and then a slight angle an inch or two from the end.

Last night tragedy struck our home in the form of the sundering of our most beloved kitchen implement. The solid angled turner. It

I’ve never seen anyone else complain about this, so I’m guessing it’s unpopular. Reddit certainly isn’t expecting people to react this way to violent content.

I specifically had a subreddit called “gunfights” suggested to me while browsing popular on the Reddit mobile app. A highly upvoted post, that was not hidden behind a NSFW/NSFL tag, show a person getting shot in the head.

I think if it wouldn’t be shown on network TV without a graphic content label, it shouldn’t be on the front page of Reddit.

And why is there no rule against violent or disturbing content? And no way to report such content?

My wife and I are attending SDCC for the first time and I feel like we missed out before it’s even begun. We didn’t know to grab tickets to events before they sold out, basically by the time we heard about them they were gone. We really wanted to go the adult swim party but no dice. Hall H and Indigo are likely out of our grasp too because we need to return to our base camp every ~4-5 hours. Not worth lining up at 7AM if we have to leave at 11:30 AM.

We’re not big collectors so we might buy stuff but exclusives or high-demand items don’t mean much to us. Plus after the cost of attending the show and hotel it seems weird to spend a bunch of money on merch.

What’s left? Most of the smalle

Winter is still coming. Rejoice while you can, sweet summer children. The Night King has fallen. Winter can’t be snuck up on and stabbed, it must endured. It will take a savvy and capable leader for the Seven Kingdoms to survive. The Game of Thrones is just as much about survival now as was the battle against the AotD.

The death of the Night King and the end of the army of the dead are not the end of winter. The long night of forever darkness has been abated but Westeros/the world is about to endure the longest winter in living memory.

The Stark children have known summer all their lives, and the winter could potentially be equally long. They could live under winter conditions for decade
