My DK2 has just been ordered, so with any luck will get it just before xmas.

Wasn't sure if I should as this in r/oculus or here so sorry if this isn't appropriate.

Will my GTX 670 suffice or should I be looking to upgrade?

Thanks

Loving E:D so far so thought I'd share my little story.

I was trading computer components, basic medicines, agri-medicines and terrain enrichment systems between chango and aulin.

Slowly built up from the sidewinder to a hauler, then to a cobra.

Finally got enough cash for a full haul of terrain enrichment systems which left me with about 1k in my pocket.

So i head off to Chango but due to it being busy i can't dock, so i wait, and wait.

Then disaster strikes. I accidently hit the boost button on my joystick and slammed straight into the side of the station.

I dont have the insurance money to get my cobra back, so now i'm back in my sidewinder with just over 1k, right back where i sta

I'm taking delivery of my first hive today. It will be my first one as I've never kept bees before.

Its a bit late in the year though, so should I park the idea until next year and do more reading (already done a lot) and get myself on a course or two, or should I get some bees and get cracking?

I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

Thanks

So far I'm loving this game, but one thing is bothering me.

There seems to be a number of bots that just automate the work cycle to acquire currency and this is kind of ruining aspects of the game.

I've seen a number of avatars that just go to their work stations first think and grind until the evening, they then go home to sleep and regen stamina but then they do the same thing the next day.

I could be wrong and they might be actual players but it seems automated to me.

I'm worried that if enough of these bots invade the server then new players will think that this is what the game is all about and they'll forget the other elements of the game like the exploration aspect.

Should we do

I'm pretty high level but I've put all my spec points in the technology branch. After playing for a decade or so I'm questioning this class as its not much fun to play.

I think I'd prefer a class with more of a crafting based skill set but I'm not sure I can face the early level grinding. Plus the reduction in gold would be pretty difficult to justify.

Any advice, or should I just buckle down and prepare for an unfulfilling endgame?

I know the servers are being hammered and most issues are being caused by that but was wondering if anyone had seen the following:

I launch a solo game and it puts me in the carpark for the first mission. The character automatically walks over to the circle and the cutscene kicks in with the guy getting out of the car.

All my textures then go super low quality, then they pop back to hi res again, it cuts back to the guy getting out of the car then goes to an infinite 'loading' screen.

Seems weird that the cutscene plays out twice.

Anyone else seeing the same?

I'm thinking about getting my first tattoo this year and I quite fancy the idea of some robots. At this stage I'd like something that works as an outline only, however I may fill them in later.

I'd quite like the robot from Laputa along with the disney's iron giant but not sure if I need a 3rd in there as two might be odd (if you'll pardon mathematical fallacy). Any ideas of how these two could be interacting?

Either that, or a small collection of this style of robot: http://img.symworks.com/l_tin_collectable_blue_small_robot.jpg

Any ideas?
