Hey everyone! First time day to a newly-turn 5 month old girl! We have really found our groove even transitioning to 3 naps but we have hit a road block and was hoping for some advice or if this is even normal.

Over the past 2 day our baby girl has struggle with eating. She is only feeding about 5 mins or so on my wife’s breast and then she will either pop off and suck her thumb or bite her nipple. Then when I give her the bottle (which used to be the failsafe since she was always about the bottle) she will only drink an ounce or maybe two before biting the nipple on that or playing with it with her tongue. It’s making me nervous she isn’t eating enough, and it’s messing up her eating sched

Hey everyone! First time dad to a beautiful 4.5 month old baby girl. I was talking with one of the other dads at work and he pointed me to this sub for a question I had. I do not claim to be a scientific expert and please don’t beat me up too much.

We have not given our girl any screen time yet (unless you consider the baby Einstein sea creature soother screen time because she is about that business) and we plan on holding off for a while. However, my wife and I love football and we will usually watch the game when it’s on on Sundays. Is it okay if she watches or sees the TV only on Sundays during the game? I have heard as long as you’re interacting with the baby and talking during her and

Hey everyone! First time dad to a beautiful 4.5 month old baby girl! I have heard so much conflicting info on the below from either family or coworkers and just wanted to see what everyone’s experience is with the below!

My baby was consistently seeking 3 to 4 hours in naps a day and about 10 to 11 hours at night. We transitioned her to crib for naps and overnight sleep. Now her naps are only 31 to 40 mins if we’re lucky. Overnight sleep is still somewhat okay but we’re worried it’s going to be impacted. We are assuming this is in part due to the 4 month regression. Here’s what I’m wondering…should we be rescuing her naps when she wakes up or will this create a bad habit? Like will she lear

Hey everyone! First time dad to a newly 4.5 month old baby girl. It’s been a hell of a 3 days and u just need some good news stories. 2 days ago, her naps started breaking down, we were getting 45 min to 1 hour stretches and now we’re down to 28 to 36 mins. Also, she is refusing to breastfeed with my wife (she takes the bottle just fine) which stresses my wife out and makes her upset because she likes having that bonding time with her.

Then just today my wife pumped and her supply was extremely low, which could be from the stress of the baby not breastfeeding or just stuff at work (she also didn’t eat a lot today which I’m really hoping is the case). The only thing I’m holding onto is that

Hey everyone! First time dad to a 4.5 month old girl! We just recently transitioned from all contact naps to all crib naps (which happened organically somehow, she just decided she wanted the space). She has been great since discovering how to suck her thumb and wiggle to soothe herself to sleep. We were getting 45 mins to 1.5 hour naps from her over the past week or so and we thought we hit our stride.

Over the past two days we’re getting 28 to 35 min naps and sometimes trying to rescue doesn’t work. I know she’s still tired when she wakes up. Her night sleep is unaffected so far but her day sleep is dicey. Her schedule is: wake at 730am-ish, 1.75/2.25/2/2/2 and then bedtime usually 820-8

Hey everyone! First time day to a 4.5 month old girl. About a week or two ago, we transitioned from all contact naps to crib naps in her own room. Things had been going well, when it’s nap time we zip her up in her sleep sack/darken room/play white noise and she sucks her thumb while we rub her back and she falls asleep. She was napping anywhere from 40 mins to 1.5 hours. This week she’s getting about 28 to 36 mins before waking herself up and rescuing the nap doesn’t always work. Is this just a result of the 4 month regression that we just have to get through? Or could this be a schedule thing? She is not formally sleep trained as her night sleep has been unaffected for now, but her schedul

Hey everyone! First time dad to an almost 4.5 month old. I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance possibly or for someone to tell me I could be doing more…

Do all your wake windows follow a very similar routine? For me (I’m currently on parental leave so it’s just me and sweet baby for 8 hours straight) we wake, feed, read a book, do a little tummy time, walk around the house, then I let her play on her back and swat at things on her fisher price mat. Next I give her some independent time and let her do her own thing and then, maybe another book or some tummy time or practice sitting up and then back to sleep. Usually once a day atleast (generally her second wake window) I take her out

Hey everyone! New dad to a beautiful 4 month old. I feel like I’m stressing myself out and my wife out and I just want to see what other parents are experiencing/ have experienced….

So I have been harping on milestones for a while and I feel like I’m going overboard (but it’s really just because I want my baby to excel!). About a week ago she was rolling back to tummy and babbling a bit (she kept making this really long “ahhhhhhh” noise which was super cute) and would push herself up on her hands for tummy time etc. Cut to the past couple days…she doesn’t roll onto her belly anymore really. When we put her in tummy time, instead of pushing on her hands, she lays on her forearm (still suppor

Hey everyone! First time dad to a 4 month old beautiful girl! She just learned how to roll back to stomach and really loves to do it now (she has mastered the one side but still working on the other). Problem is, she doesn’t know how to get out of it…which during the day isn’t so bad because we show her how to roll out. However at night, she gets herself stuck and cries, or she just spends time rolling from side to side trying to roll over.

Did any other parents experience this and how long did it take for them to learn to roll belly to back? Will she learn how to do it on her own without us? Will she always try rolling in her crib or once she knows how to do both it gets better? Please som

Hey everyone! My wife and I are first time parents to a beautiful 4 month old girl. We both work full-time and she used 3 months of PPL for girls first 3 months and I’m using my 3 months now to get her to 6 months when she starts daycare. I have to say…shout out to moms in general but definitely the stay at home moms!! Every day/ all day is HARD. My first few weeks with her weren’t so bad but you start to get this Groundhog Day feel sinking in pretty quick and then you kind of scramble for activities and hope she doesn’t get bored of the repetition, but also hope she’s learning!

I guess what I’m wondering is, is it normal to be excited for your baby to go to daycare? I know that it comes wi

Hey everyone! First time dad to a beautiful 17 week girl (will be 4 months on Friday!). Her overnight sleep was running smooth with our 830-9pm bedtime and then usually an 8 to 11 hour stretch with possibly 1 wake up where we either fed or just rocked her back to sleep.

She has unfortunately grown too long for the bassinet (we placed her horizontal and she ended up vertical and getting stuck/upset in the morning) and have transitioned her to the crib in her own room. The first night was not so great, up every 2 hours and rocked back to bed and she quickly fell asleep. 2 nights ago was better, 6 hour stretch followed with a wake up, feed, rocked back to bed until morning. Last night was sim

Hey everyone! First time dad to a newly 4 month old girl. She is the light of my life and my wife and I love her to pieces. My wife’s PPL is over and I have been on mine for about a month and I have to say…we’re exhausted lol. We’re on the cusp of the 4 month sleep regression (crossing our fingers is atleast misses our night sleep!) and we basically feel like activities directors on a cruise line trying to keep her entertained during a lot of her wake windows.

I know a lot of people say it gets better and I have no doubt it does, otherwise people wouldn’t have kids anymore! We’re nervous about the regression, sleep, and milestones all the time. Was just hoping to hear some good news storie

Hey everyone! First time dad to a beautiful 17 week old (will be 4 months on the 28th. I would like to start baby wearing with her like my wife does so I can take her on walks and to the store with putting her in the car seat/stroller. However, I cannot find a good one for men (even though I think they are all unisex?) my wife has a Mabe (I think that’s what it’s called) but it doesn’t fit me right and leaves a bunch of room in there for her. I just wanted to see if there were any recommendations out there! I would like to avoid any slings or weaves right now, but I have heard the Ergobaby embrace is good?

I am 5’11, 210 pounds, broad shoulders. My baby is around 2ft, 13 pounds (based on ou

Nap Trapped?

4 - 6 months

Hey all! First time dad to a 17 week girl (4 months upcoming Thursday). We have recently had great night stretches with her (10 hours uninterrupted) and naps are usually 20 to 40 mins except 1 afternoon nap we get about 1.5 hours with rescue.

We are down to 4 naps a day, wake up is 730-8 and bedtime is usually 830-850. Daytime naps has been a struggle for a week or two. We do our first nap in the bassinet (where we basically walk her around for a few mins in dark room and then when she falls asleep, transfer her) where we get about 40 mins usually. Any other nap we have been doing contact because we don’t want to screw her day by her waking up 2 mins after putting her down and then she’s
