I’m listening to a song right now, and there’s a line that says “Thank you, Lord, for dying for me at the cross.”

I’ve always thought / said “on the cross.” Is “at the cross” also correct here? If so, what’s the difference?

I need some help figuring out the best workflow for a short video I’m recreating.

There’s an old movie clip where an elderly woman opens a pair of painted wooden shutters and leans out of a window. I need to recreate the same camera move, but instead of the old lady, I’ll have an actor who I’m shooting in a studio on green screen.

My plan is to put a table in front of her and cover it with green cloth so it can serve as the window sill in the final composite. But my main question is about the shutters themselves. We can’t film real shutters, and most likely the whole window setup will have to be AI-generated.

So what’s the best approach for c

I’m trying to organize my effects inside the Effects panel, but Premiere won’t let me drag anything into a custom folder unless I enlarge the panel.
If the folder is out of view near the bottom, the drag just doesn’t register unless I stretch the window, which I don’t want to do because that forces me to undock the panel and mess up my whole workspace.

Maybe Adobe could even fix this by adding a simple “Add to Custom Folder” option in the right-click menu. That would solve the whole problem.

I noticed something odd while reading the Wikipedia entry on blackout fabric. "Blackout refers to a foam-backed, opaque fabric used to black out light" It says the fabric is used to “black out light."

But to me, that feels off.

“To black out” means to make something (like a room) completely dark.

“To block out” means to stop something (like light or noise) from getting in. And that's what we usually use on film sets, also flag out.

So wouldn’t the natural phrasing be either:

“black out the room”

or “block out the light”

“black out the light” sounds like you’re making the light itself go dark

Curious if this is just sloppy Wikipedia wording, or if some people actually use “black

I’ve been running into constant issues with Premiere lately. A few weeks back, tech support told me to downgrade to version 25.3 to avoid some of the render errors I was getting (I actually made a post about that here before).

Now I’m hitting another wall:

  • I get an “Error compiling movie / Accelerated Renderer Error / Unable to produce frame” message.
  • The first time I tried to export, it rendered all the way up to 00:00:45:10 before failing.
  • When I tried again, it failed immediately at 00:00:01:13.
  • At both timestamps, I’m using text mogrts.
  • The strange thing is: **if I r

While rendering, I got the “Error retrieving frame” message.
One suggested fix was to switch the video rendering option from CUDA to Software Only. But when I tried to do that, the dropdown was grayed out and inactive.
I tried holding SHIFT while starting Premiere but the box didnt pop up

Any idea how I can enable it or fix this issue?

Hi, I recently updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro Beta, and now the program is using all of my RAM during renders. This same issue happened a few months ago after an update — I had to roll back to an earlier version, and that solved the problem.

Now, a few months later, I’m seeing the same behavior again. Any idea what’s causing this, or how to fix it without downgrading again?
