I tried to start RS2 yesterday and the game got stuck on the splash screen. It will sit there for 10+ minutes and never advance. It doesn't move on to the launch videos or the main menu and it doesn't shut down correctly. I have to stop VNGame.exe and EasyAntiCheat Service from the task manager or by exiting Steam when that doesn't work

I've tried verifying game cache and it's missing two files. Even after it successfully verifies the cache if I try to validate again it downloads the two files again.

I uninstalled and re-installed the game but the problem persists

The last time the game launched correctly was some time last week (anecdotally before the new Steam library)

Has anyone had a

I've been hearing about Hell Let Loose from my friends in Rising Storm 2: Vietnam. I heard that it's a teamwork-focused WWII shooter which immediately grabs my interest. I really enjoy games that reward teams for communicating and working together. But alas my computer is outdated so I assumed that my rig would not handle a shooter that's currently being developed. I saw somewhere that HLL was having a free weekend so I decided to see if I was wrong. I'm happy to say I WAS wrong!

To finish my preface: I'm an experienced tactical shooter player. My top-played games are Dota 2, RS2, and Mount and Blade: Warband. I've been testing and providing feedback for games in open and closed beta for

That's goofy

The community has always been the most important factor to the success of this game

It's surreal to play in a server for a few hours and have no-one talk. After years playing RO2, RS, and RS2 it doesn't feel right to have so little communication and coordination

tl;dr: I'd rather have a Voip hotfix than wait until 1.4 is released

I'm at 3.5k mmr and any time I see Tinker he wins.

Eventually, he gets BoTs mid and goes around stopping every push, creating space, and rekking reamfights

How do you beat this hero in the midgame?

How important are the picks to beat tinker? I know that ganking is important, but what do you do if you don't have decent gankers/no one is willing to roam?

And if he's so good, why isn't he picked more competitively?

Right now, if a player on your team abandons and you lose (as you so often do 4v5), your MMR is lowered by losing a 4v5 game. In general, the best you can do at this point is leave the game and eat the negative MMR.

This seems thoroughly unfair.

This treats a game where someone leaves at the 5 minute mark the same as a game where someone leaves 5 minutes before the game is over. Those two games feel very different.

One option to change the system is to just forgive the other 4 players on the leaver's team and not record MMR changes for them. This solution actually brings up some problems because it allows people to leave already-lost games to preserve the MMR of the others on their team/p

The NaDota Elite League is basically a sponsored tournament in the ixdl-invite league.

It's great if you're a fan of watching pros, pubstars, serious games, clowny games, or the North American scene in general.

The tournament is going to be playing games every day until the championships at the end of October. So far, there have been 3-6 games per day starting aroind 8 or 9 EDT. For $4, it's one hell of an in-game ticket. There's only like 300 people watching in-game right now so the odds are right for tournament drops.

For the people that don't want to get the in-game ticket, Maut has been streaming a few games a night on the [N

Hey, guys. First thread on Reddit.

I started streaming about a week ago and I've got Open Broadcaster Software set up about how I like it. Since the new patch came in and brought us the Greeviling, I figured it was time to unveil the channel and try to entertain some viewers.

I've been playing DotA for a little less than a year ago when my brother got (me) involved. We quickly recruited some of our friends from high school to mess around with under the moniker "SALT?" and we occasionally play small tournaments with nlgseries.com to learn and have fun. Other than that we mostly just pub around

With the ongoing Steam sales, I tend to pick up somewhat outdated games (Mass Effect and Borderla
