For those of you that have used True North Mortgage, how long after closing/funding the mortgage did you receive your cash back?

How do payouts with transfers work? For example my current lender gave a payout estimate with penalty to FCT on September 23. But I made another mortgage payment with my current lender after the payout amount on September 30 of $800, and prior to the transfer to my new lender. So is that payout then adjusted again to reflect the additional $800 mortgage payment I made?

How would a situation like this play out? Currently my GF and I both own our own separate homes. We've been together 10 years. Her home is fully paid off and is worth $270,000. My home is worth $440,000 and I owe $220,000 on the mortgage. So she's got around $50,000 more property equity than I do.

My GF has done well for herself. She has a high paying career (same salary as me), her house is paid off, has a good pension, and is close to maxing out her TFSA and RRSPs. I want nothing from her, I just want to protect what I've worked hard for up to this point in my life, in the event of a separation. Plus my home has some money in it from a small inheritance I received when my Grandpa passed

Looks like True North Mortgage is the broker for Think Financial and they're essentially the same company. Has anyone ever got a fixed mortgage through Think Financial? If so what was your experience?

How are the penalties? What I'm not clear is how their IRD is calculated since Think does not post rates on their website. Are they considered a "fair penalty" lender?

How's the online portal? What's functions can you perform in the online portal?

Customer service?

Portability if I want to sell and buy a new property, can I port mortgage over to new property?

Any other details I should be aware of that you discovered after the fact?

My CRA account was hacked & direct deposit changed for CERB

Someone gained access to my CRA account, changed my direct deposit info and applied for two CERB payments totalling $4000. I'm not even eligible for CERB. When I discovered this immediately called my bank at TD who is now issuing me a new checking account number and new access card. I also changed my CRA password and fixed my direct deposit info. I'll be calling CRA and the anti-fraud Centre on Monday since they're closed on the weekend.

I'm quite stressed about this. How could someone 1) gain my CRA user name and password, and 2) answers to the security questions?

What ever happened to Barry Davis? He was my favourite Blue Jays sideline reporter. I always loved his insight and his cutting edge reporting. He was probably very low on testosterone though.
