I’m looking for advice from experienced UniFi users on how I should configure my home network. I’m interested in making sure I have the configuration right.

My current setup

* ISP: 500 Mbps

* Gateway/router: Firewalla Gold SE

* Switch: UniFi Pro Max 16 PoE

* APs: 3 × UniFi U7 Pro

* APs are all Ethernet backhauled

* No VLANs currently

* Jumbo frames off

* UniFi Flex 2.5G planned for my home office

* Multiple wired and wireless clients, including work computers, school devices, TVs/streaming, phones/tablets and PS5s

I’ve had some hardware/network issues in the past, including intermittent problems with the Firewalla’s 2.5GbE connection to the UniFi switch. More recently, my

TL;DR / BLUF: My Firewalla Gold SE appears to have a bad Port 1 (2.5GbE). Port 1 causes intermittent full-network outages, while Port 2 (1GbE) has been rock solid using the same cable, switch port, and configuration. Firewalla had me run additional troubleshooting and reproduce the issue, but their RMA process requires me to send the unit back before receiving a replacement, but this is my only router and can’t go without internet. Looking for others with similar Gold SE issues or advice on handling an RMA when this is your primary router.

Long Version: I purchased a Firewalla Gold SE in August 2025. For the past few months, I’ve had intermittent network interruptions where Port 1 (2.5GbE L

New pool owner (came with our house we just bought) and trying to figure out if I should trust my pool guy, find a new company, or buy an advanced chemical testing kit for DYI.

We just moved in and I’ve been using the same local guy the previous owners used for years for opening/maintenance. Yesterday, we swam and I had pretty bad eye burning, sinus irritation, and even some skin irritation, so I tested the water with a cheap strip test that we have on hand. Here are my numbers:

* FC: 10

* TA: 120

* pH: 7.8

* CYA: 250

My pool guy is telling me to just shock the pool to burn off chloramines, but from what I’m reading, that CYA seems extremely high and might be the real issue.

Killing Rue was always going to devastate viewers. But I do not think most of us expected a happy ending for her anyway. If anything, Season 2 felt like a natural stopping point. Rue saying she stayed clean for the summer gave just enough closure without pretending everything was magically okay. It left her future uncertain, which actually felt honest.

We all knew relapse was likely. We knew things could get worse. That is what made her story feel real.

What does not sit right with me is the reasoning behind her death compared to what we were actually shown.

If the intention was to make a statement about how dangerous fentanyl is and how addiction can kill, then why did Season 3 not reall

Sit Out Dig Event?

Meme/Discussion

Went hard for last few events so thinking I sit out this event to let dice replenish for a future event. Any reason to not sit this event out?

Peg-e Strategy?

Peg-e :peg-e_token:

After a long break, I’m back playing. The peg-e board has a different layout from when I last played so guessing I need to change my strategy. Anyone figured out a good approach for this peg-e board - slot location and multiplier?

Rewatching the show ahead of my watch of Season 3 and I’m reminded that I didn’t just personally dislike Elliot, he genuinely changed the show’s dynamic in a way everyone called out at the time. Season 1 was tightly centered on Rue and Jules. Their relationship was the emotional anchor, and everything else branched off of that. Season 2 brought in Elliot and suddenly that core became a triangle, which made the show feel less focused and less intimate.

And honestly, he wasn’t even needed. Rue’s relapse arc was already fully earned. Addiction is baked into her character. The show had already proven it could explore that in a deep, character-driven way without introducing a pane new character

I was recently diagnosed with IIH by neuroradiologist after a CT venogram showed signs consistent with IIH. He recommended I see both a neurologist and a neuro-ophthalmologist before moving forward with an LP and medication.

I’m looking for highly experienced specialists in the Boston area have who a strong track record with IIH (familiar with visual field monitoring, LP interpretation, and long-term management).

Anyone in Massachusetts have recommendations?

I usually cook 1–2 cups of rice, occasionally up to 3. I’m deciding between the 3-cup and 5.5-cup Zojirushi models. For those who own either:

  • Any noticeable difference in rice quality between the small vs large model?
  • Is the bigger one worth it for occasional larger batches, or overkill for mostly small amounts?
  • Any issues cooking tiny batches in the 5.5-cup?
