By which I mean give us the option at game setup to pick one civ (from any era) to serve as the skin for our empire for the entire game.

Example: I pick Ben Franklin of America. I would still get the units and bonuses of Aksum or whoever in the ancient age, but all the cosmetic elements (civ name, flag, border colours, city name list etc) would be (and remain) those of America. There would be a game rule to apply similar skins to the AI.

This I think would retain the feel of adding and building on your civilisation which the developers are going for, while still allowing players who want to to guide one single, consistent empire through history. Instead of the Romans waking up one morning

Hi all, I'd be really grateful for some help with this because it's driving me to despair.

I am setting up full automation for my game using Baileywiki's recommended modules and settings. Most of it works perfectly, however there are two spells (and as far as I can tell it is only these two) where the animations are not working.

When trying to use Ice Knife, no animation plays and I get the following error message through the A-A debugger:

DEBUG | Automated Animations | No template found for the Template animaiton, existing early

(Weirdly, if I use the template tool to draw a template before clicking the spell then the animation fires no problem.)

When trying to use Earth Tremor, aga

I just opened my 9th collector's reserve since my last spotlight cache. As I understand it there are meant to be two Series 3 cards in every group of 10 caches (being 9 regular reserves and 1 spotlight cache), however I have not opened a single Series 3 card since my last spotlight. Not sure if this is a bug caused by the transition from the old system to the new? Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: the nine caches I have opened are consecutive caches between my last spotlight (Knull variant) and my next one (unopened). I am missing about half of the cards in S3.

I fired up Rimworld for the first time in like six months last night. Naked brutality start, no starting techs. My colonist, Sausage, was a pigskin and the idea was to build a colony of pig people who would farm baseliners for food.

The first few days went well enough. Sausage built a roof over some pre-existing ruins, foraged some berries, and set about learning how to craft basic tribal weapons. On the fourth day a transport pod crashed, containing an injured baseliner. Naturally Sausage put him out of his misery, then dragged the body back to camp to act as a food source.

Upon his first taste of human flesh, however, Sausage realised it wasn't for him (turns out I had forgotten to switc

Hi all, so I'm fairly new to the hobby and I've been playing Terminus Est pretty much exclusively. With AoC going away now seems like a good time to upgrade my list.

We play fairly casually (1500 points, random secondaries) so I'm not looking for something that's "optimal", however most of the group is much more experienced and I just want to make sure I'm not barking up completely the wrong tree before I invest in a while bunch of models.

Grateful for any thoughts on my below list!

So I recently returned to Rimworld after a long break, and wanted to share my experience of almost getting my entire colony killed through a series of hilariously terrible noob mistakes. I nearly save-scummed once both my violence-capable pawns got downed, but I'm super glad that I decided to play it out because I got a fun little story out of it.

This is not a story about gigantic insect infestations, or raiders with Doomsday launchers, or waves of soulless mechanoids. This is a story of my colonists getting fucked up by 1 (one) angry bear.

On a hot Jugust afternoon, while sowing the rice fields, Carlotta Marquez spotted an adult grizzly approaching the settlement. Surmising that it was s

I've been looking into this but I'm seeing so many contradictory statements. Some people say it helps a ton and some people say it only helps the full hop input, not the short hop.

I'm thinking about ordering some FIRES stuff but it'll cost a fair amount to get it delivered (I'm in UK) so any clarity you can give before I make the order would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, relative newb here! The new expansion looks great and it's got me interested in trying out the game again.

That said, the killbox "meta" is what killed my interest in the game before. Pretty much every YouTube playthrough I've seen ends up building a sprawling maze and killbox before too long, because that is the only way to deal with the ever-increasing intensity of raids.

I'm definitely not disparaging anyone who plays that way, however it seems to take away a lot of the challenge, it feels gamey, and for me it's just not fun or interesting.

Is it feasible to play without killboxes? I'm perfectly happy to accept that some of my colonists will die, but I understand that even on l

Hey, I'm new here so I hope I'm not breaking any rules =)

I (28M) am earning £42k. I have £25k in emergency savings/day-to-day fund, £20k in a Vanguard S&S ISA, and three workplace pensions with £2k-3k in each. I have £195k left on my mortgage.

After mortgage/bills/food etc I usually have £800-£1000 to put away each month. At the minute I'm putting £600 into the ISA, £250 to overpay the mortgage, and anything left over just hangs out in my bank account.

I'm worried I haven't been prioritising my pension enough (I and my employer are making the minimum contributions but that's it). My logic has been that I'll get the benefit of the mortgage overpayments within a couple of years when we

Hey everyone, a few weeks ago I posted the opening two chapters of my fantasy novel in progress. People seemed to enjoy it so here is the start of Chapter Three (which I have split up due to length). Google docs link

I have made some minor changes to the first two chapters since posting: >!I have aged up the children so that Lissy is now thirteen, Harpin, Gerrod and Rufus are fourteen or so, and Tomas and Jenna are twelve. I have also added some wording to try to make clear that,

Hey everyone, here are the first two chapters of a novel which I am calling The Last Necromancer, at least until I think of a better title. It is high fantasy, a genre I've not tried my hand at before, and it's definitely got a learning curve! Recently I got some mixed feedback on this excerpt (outside of this sub) and have substantially reworked it to try and address those criticisms, so I'm really interested if you guys bring up the same points or not.

Thanks in advance!
