As of Chapter 142, it looks like humanity is about to make a move on the squids. This probably should have happened earlier, but the humans wanted to get hazmat gear to protect against The Cure^tm. However, now that the Sapient Coalition knows that humanity is actively working with Isif's rebellion, they can use them as part of the invasion. We lost the Duerten shield as a result, but they were too stubborn, prideful, and untrained to be of any use. The arxur on the other hand know how to recognize a good plan, follow orders, and aren't generally in the habit of cutting off their snout to spite their enemies.

So what

While I understood the necessity of building group cohesion, the Farsul they implanted as operational first officer was already asking questions. His name was Thyon; to my understanding, he was a personal favorite of their high elder. That didn’t buy him any favor on my vessel. The Krakotl Alliance was the entity that planned this mission, down to the gritty details.

Makes you question how much he knew....

There had been a lot of discussion about the humans. How did they survive their nuclear war? (They didn’t have one). How did they manage to fake the empathy tests (they didn’t). The one question nobody seemed to have an answer for was ‘Why do humans wear clothes?’ Some suggested they used it hide some secret predatory ability. Some said their skin must be exceptionally weak. The most popular was th

If you talked to any engineering firm and asked what their goal for the company was, they’d give you something to the gist of ‘Building the highest quality products at the lowest prices for our customers’ or maybe even ‘We build the future’ if they were trying to seem cutting edge.

Of course, that wasn’t really the case. A real one would be ‘We plan on making the highest quality products. But we’re kind of swamped right now. Also, we’re in an ongoing legal battle with 3 other people over patents. We make smart decisi

I made this because u/jesterra54 hasn't updated the timeline yet. Until he does, here's my addition to the timeline. Link to jesterra54's timeline post

December 7: >!Chief Hunter Isif brings his fleet to Sillis and negotiates a ceasefire. Isif receives lab-grown meat, non-sapient cattle, and a non-aggression pact for outposts under his domain. In exchange, the humans keep the rescued cattle from Shaza’s sector and have those captured during the battle returned. Shaza is killed enroute to UN ships by the humans she tried to make into cattle.!<

As some of you may have noticed the NOP timeline hasn't been updated in quite a while. I talked with u/jesterra54 and we decided to ask the community for help to get update the timeline updated to the most recent chapter 128.

In this post, you can find a google doc that u/jesterra54 has made where you can add information. Additionally, proofreading for grammar in the google doc would also be very helpful to us. Once the doc is filled out, u/jesterra54 will update the timeline post on reddit.

Thank you for helping. Thank you to u/jesterra54 for creating and maintaining the timeline in the first place. Finally, thank you

We're about 130 chapters into Nature of Predators. Over time there have been many new characters, lore drops, and events. About once every week or two we have people asking questions about planet names, species blood colors, or even how high VP's gravity is (2g in real life, artistic licensed down to 1.2g). Some have suggested an external wiki be made.

If an external wiki is to be made, many questions need to be answered. Where should it be hosted? Who will be the owner? Who will moderate? How will we deal with spoilers? How will patron content be handled? Does SpacePaladin approve? Many of these are not one time problems, but on-going efforts. Doing an external wiki might be too much wo

I set my daughter back on the ground. “Don’t climb the shelves,” I said sternly.

“Why?”

“Because you’re not supposed to!”

“Why?”

“Because you can get hurt.”

“But I didn’t get hurt.”

This was a losing battle. “Just, don’t run off. Okay?” I turned to Virnix. “What else do we need?”

She scrunched up her face. “I’m trying to remember the names.”

“Let’s just go past the aisles then till you

I had a thought to me occur about the Ginzel-Nikonous communication and why it wasn't released immediately. The first two reasons of why they didn't release are simple. First is that it burns they're ability to listen in on Dominion/Federation comms. Second is that afterwards the Dominion and Commonwealth will team up afterwards which we may not have the resources to deal with. Especially if it doesn't generate a high number of Arxur defectors. My realization was a third reason: The humans are banking on the Farsul Archives doing the same thing.

It's suspicious that EVERY converted species has been a scavenger. There's a high likelihood that hunting species and obligate carnivores were geno

“They said 10:00 am. Do you think they’re still coming?” Virnix asked from the seat next to me.

I leaned my head against the car window. “It’s only 10:07, they’re just running a little late.”

“Maybe something happened to them. Or they forgot.”

“I messaged them. They know we’re here.”

“Then why didn’t they r

TIME FOR SOME OLEK-LEVEL CONSPIRACY THEORY WRITING

Imagine you're the Kolshians, slimy tentacles and all. The war has kicked off between you and the humans, but the there's a problem: Your public military has a moral compass. If the public military interacts with the shadow military, they may start defecting to the humans, spilling Kolshian secrets in the process. You need to get rid of them, but how? If you just have them to sit out on the sidelines people are going to wonder why. Also, you can't disappear, arrest, or diagnose Predator Disease on 6,000 ships worth of troops without the public seriously questioning your excuses. (They're dumb, but not that dumb.) There's only one ot

For the first time since I had first arrived on Earth, I was on the road when it was still light out. Unfortunately, rush hour traffic was just as bad as it was back home. On the plus side I didn’t need to drive, just sit back and let the car do the work. *We can put a translator in a man’s head, but we can’t b
