In a few weeks I am traveling for a conference and will be away 3 days/2 nights. I intended to pump and then bring the milk back with me. I know that at some point it was permitted to carry breast milk without the baby, but I can't find anything on the TSA website that specifically deals with traveling without baby. Does anyone know where I could find such a statement? Alternately, anyone have recent experiences traveling with pumped milk and no baby?

I got a "good job pooping mommy. You get a jelly bean" this morning. Hey, we all need positive reinforcement!
I work for a college in NYC and have just started teaching this semester after having my third baby in October. I am used to this whole pumping at work routine and I hate it. The last two babies however I was teaching elsewhere and had access to an unused office. But here I am sitting behind the curtain in the health clinic. While this fits the legal requirements it is not so great. I have to ask at the desk and they sometimes roll their eyes and act annoyed. I am not confident that a random person won't draw back the curtain. And pumps are loud!
If I was more than just a contract employee (I am an adjunct) I might feel more confident causing a stir over this. This is a sizable institutio
Everyone messes up the turkey now and then but my father and step mother are arguing over the frozen corn. Apparently they only have ever cooked canned corn. This is a pretty good indication of how things are going.
I finally completed my PhD and the ceremony is next month. There is no separate ceremony for PhDs in December so it will be for all graduates. But here is the thing: my little guy will be 2.5 months. He is breastfed. My husband is obviously coming as is my mom and my other two kids (6 and 2). My mom will probably take my toddler to the overflow seating. Do I keep the infant with me? If I wear him he would probably sleep the whole time. PhDs are hooded by their advisors and my advisor would be fine with me having baby with me.
Anyone else graduate with an infant?
Hello Ladies,
I had my baby #3 on October 1, and have just been able to bring myself back to my favorite internet space. But I am still working through the little guy's delivery. So please indulge.
Some context: with my first two kids, I was in labor around 9 hours each time. I had an epi at 9cm with #1, and as soon as I got to the hospital with #2. Things progressed pretty much the same up until the end with both, except when it came to pushing, #2 did not want to come down, and so had to be delivered with the assistance of a vacuum.
Cue #3. I fully expected labor to be about the same as his older siblings. I planned to go to the hospital early to get my epidural. Well, on Oct 1
Granted I am 38+ weeks and an emotional mess today but between math, writing, and reading we are looking at probably an hour a night when you factor in arguing about it. WTF? I like his school a lot but this is ridiculous. Plus I have a toddler and another on the way and I am on my own most of the week as hubs works out of town.
Rant over.
Sigh.
The issue of finding maternity clothes in non-gender conforming styles has come up a few times on this sub, so thought I would share this.
huffingtonpost.com/entry/butchbaby-fabricatio...I am only getting at most 3-4 hours of broken up sleep a night, and I am walking zombie. And coffee is turning my stomach. I got a date with my ladies to see a movie and go out for dinner tonight (one last hurrah before baby #3), so I think I might just start drinking coke so I can make it through the day and evening.
Just a little vent, because.
I must be nesting.
Hubby and I are going to a wedding today and I got an email last week that the dress code is "formal." Curses on people who have a formal wedding in the summer! And send out a dress code a week in advance.
Well my husband doesn't have any suits at present that fit him. So he went out to get a cheap last minute suit and brought me home the pants to hem. Because he assumed I could hem. Well hemming suit pants is tricky. 90 minutes later, he won't be tripping on them but hopefully no one will pay attention to his ankles.
Oh, and according to the definition of formal included in the email, borrowed from "the knot" formal means tuxedo is optional for men and a long gown or cocktail length dre
So I am due at the end of September and because big brother is always watching I am getting lots of (unsolicited) new baby mail including a box of samples from Enfamil. I have got one my last two pregnancies but this one contained something new: "Enfamil for supplementing" specifically for breastfeeding moms "who choose to introduce formula." Now, I have no issues with formula or supplementing or whatever. I supplemented with my first. But this just seems, I don't know, devious?
Thoughts?
So we are on our annual family August road trip to visit friends and family. Including yesterday we have 4 legs ranging from 7 to 10 hours in the next couple weeks. And I am 33 weeks pregnant. Our usual strategy is to drive as much as possible and stop as little as possible. So I kinda poo-pooed the doctor's recommendations to stop and walk around every couple hours.
With one leg finished we realize we need to change strategies and give ourselves more time to get places because I was so miserable I was almost in tears! So if you are planning any long drives I really recommend factoring in time for frequent stops!!!!
So this is my third pregnancy, but the first time I have been really pregnant in the summer. Despite drinking water all day long, I am still constantly thirsty and my pee is the color of mustard. Thinking of switching to coconut water or something (but I hate paying for it).
