I purchased this wireless adapter with my new build. It generally works fine and is fairly fast, but every once in a while it starts dropping the connection. This is a problem when it happens in online games, so I need to fix it somehow. I have tested it against both a Linksys G router and a Tenda N router and the problem is the same with both. I have moved the USB to the front of my computer, which helped, but the problem remains. The router is about 25 feet away with one wall in between. My girlfriend's Dell with a G adapter can easily maintain connection 1 room further from the router. I have also tried c

I just went to Microcenter to get my 2500k processor and I ended up getting my entire build there. At my local Microcenter they were willing to price match Newegg and then still provide mail in rebates. I am sharing this because it may save some people money to go over their entire list with a salesman while in Microcenter to get their 2500k and see which other items are cheaper there.

Edit: I was not aware that this was anything other than standard policy, so I apologize if my reluctance to give my location is frustrating. It was a major metropolitan area on the East Coast. If anyone lives in that area and wants to check their city, please PM me. I will confirm it through PM only.

I posted a few weeks back. After reading your comments and also other threads I think that the best bang for my buck is an overclocked 2500k, which is crossfire capable allowing me to throw a second card in down the road.

Would you mind reviewing my build and offering any comments?

I am currently in the process of deciding whether to purchase a desktop computer. I game on my laptop which is a Turion x64 with an integrated hd 3200. I am looking for a system that will be a noticeable improvement from what I am currently using and I want to be able to play games like Starcraft 2 without stuttering. I don't really care about all of the graphical settings being set to "extremely high", but I don't want to run games at 1024 x 768 either.

I am not trying to future proof with this purchase. If I can get 2-3 years out of this computer until it becomes about as dated for gaming as my laptop is now, then I will be very happy. Also, I may be interested in adding a second mon

I have had my e-mail address for years. I have never had anything hacked like this before. I come home and my provider tells me that there was suspicious activity on my account and it turns out that I was sending out some link. I don't know what it is too, because I am afraid to even click on it.

I am also a PS3 owner. I find the timing of this hack to be very suspicious. Is this just a coincidence or is there widespread hacking after the latest security issue?

I love game mods, so I thought that I would share my experience with a few highly modifiable games. I would love to hear about any other games out there that have large amounts of custom content.

Neverwinter Nights 1 - Modders have added a vast amount of content to this game. There are thousands of modules, which are basically small games in themselves that use the same engine, listed on the NWN vault. The community has also created a large pack of additional media materials for use in modules and called it the CEP pack. While the quality and length of some of the modules created with these tools varies, the best ones have a commercial level of polish.

I am considering starting a business and am trying to track down a good VOIP provider for a start up (1 line). I want to have my own number and also be able to forward calls to another phone, such as my cell. Does anyone know who some of the main providers in this field are other than Skype?

I am currently a graduate student and thus create a lot of documents. Of course losing any of these documents, perhaps to a drive failing, or forgetting to bring them to class would be a big problem.

Enter Ubuntu One.

I type my documents and save them to their respective folders. Each folder has been designated as a folder that should be uploaded to my Ubuntu One account. All of these documents are quietly uploaded to a cloud server where they are protected from drive failure and accessible by any computer with an internet connection. If I forget to bring my notes for the day, I can just show up a few minutes early and print a backup copy from the library.

The best part is that th

My 80 GB BC PS3 stopped reading both bluray and DVD based discs. I have already tried blowing into it with compressed air and using one of those bluray cleaners that they sell at the store. I still get nothing and I am not even sure that the disk spins. Note I have done no mods nor opened the box, so as far as I know Sony will still fix it.

My options as I understand them are:

  1. Send it into Sony for about $135. This is the option that I am favoring at the time. My understanding is that they send back a different unit of the same model. I am OK with this.

  2. Send it to a third party repair shop. My understanding is that these are about $90-$100. I would save some money on the r
