We're planning a $70,000 residential solar installation (panels, new roof, and battery) and we were expecting to use a traditional 10 year HELOC from our mortgage bank at 6%APR. Someone recently recommended we apply for credit cards with introductory 0%APR rates to cover some of the cost and reduce our effective interest payments.

We have an >800 credit score, and no debt besides the $230k left on our mortgage. Our mortgage is about $2,000/month and we pay ~$3000/month in other family household expenses.

Is it feasible to use credit cards to help finance this kind of project? Is there anything we need to be aware of if we try this?

When the trade strategy card is activated, the active play may conduct one limited transaction with each player who is not their neighbor.

Limited Transactions:

When conducting a limited transaction, players may not give promissory notes ore relic fragments, and all commodities and trade goods given are converted to commodities and placed in the receiving player's commodity stockpile. Commodities received in this way may exceed the commodity value on the player's faction sheet. If a player has more commodities than their faction's maximum when their commodities are refreshed, their number of commodities is not reduced.

The intention of this house-rule is to allow the trade player to ma

The fundamental virtue of the stock market to the economy is that it:

  • Allows any person to easily invest their wealth in capital ventures for profit (the basis of our capitalist society).
  • Efficiently grants the leverage to secure capital to the firms which investors believe have the most propensity to produce value to society.

Imposing even the most drastic regulatory constraints on the market would not fundamentally impact these benefits, and would only impact the ability of traders to extract arbitrage out of the market at the expense of other investors.

Liquidity has no significant inherent value to the stock market in terms of it's value to the economy as a whole.

My partner's doctor recently prescribed her Dicyclomine to help with the abdominal pain from getting glutened. It's typically prescribed for IBS, but it's the only medication we've seen so far that's had any reduction of her pain during a celiac attack. It's not 100% effective, but it's enough to help her function. It's really useful to have the pills available in case she eats something contaminated. I figured other people might want to see if it's helpful for them.

I'm not certain if this violates the site or the subreddit's rules about providing medical advice, if so, sorry in advance. Obviously I don't condone taking any prescription medication without talking to a doctor first.

If an apparently supernatural force which violates the laws of nature as we know them were discovered, is it necessarily the case that our understanding of the laws of nature is wrong, and must be adjusted to account for this violation, or, is it possible that our understanding of the laws of nature is sufficient and that the force is a supernatural exception to the laws of nature? How would you distinguish the two cases?

The majority ruling overturned gay marriage bans on two different grounds, because they violated equal protection, and because they said that marriage is a right which may not be denied to anybody.

If marriage is now a constitutionally protected right, would it be constitutional for state and federal governments to eliminate marriage as government institution? I have heard many libertarians, including Rand Paul say that they believe marriage should be between two people and their church, and governments have no business issuing marriage licences.

Any thoughts?

It is generally considered environmentally unfriendly to burn plastic, because it does not burn cleanly. If plastic is put into a landfill and allowed to degrade naturally over many years, does that process not produce the same chemicals, or does it merely produce them over a slower timescale?

According to the data collected by u/TuskEvil u/frogamazog and u/TheOriginalSoni2 the current rate of impulsive button pressing is 0.37 presses per second (BP/s). At this point the timer usually goes down to the 57 second mark- sometimes higher, sometimes lower - before the button is pressed and the timer is reset.

Ignoring the planned button presses, the impulsive button presses are random, so we don't need to go down to 1 BP/s before there is a significant chance of a long gap in between presses longer than one minute. So how long before impulsive button pressing alone isn't enough

As a simple example, let's say that I roll 2 red dice, for every dot that I get on the red dice I roll 3 green dice, so if I get a 7 on the red dice, I would roll 21 green dice. Is there a way to calculate the probability distribution P3(n) of rolling n on the green dice, if I know P1 (the probability distribution of rolling 2 red dice) and P2 ( the probability distribution of rolling 3 green dice)?

From what I understand I can generate numbers on this distribution if I generate a number, m, on the distribution P1, and then convolve P2 with it's self m times, then generate a number on that distribution. Is there an easier way?

Thanks for any help.
