My plans to travel across the pennines this month are pretty scuppered at the moment thanks to all three routes being closed. Anyone else stuck behind closures thanks to these unprecedented water shortages?

I see this a lot. People who start using their flashing 600 lumen lights when it's barely even dusk. Do I really need to see you coming from half a kilometre away on a car-free route? Or is there some other reason for momentarily blinding others who are walking or cycling towards them?
