Before I transitioned and fixed my life ( 8 month on hrt and 8 months clean loving life now) I used to use drink and drugs to supress my dysphoria, i can say with some authority cocaine use in the UK is at epidemic levels, it is litteraly everywhere and if people knew just how many of the freinds, family and all the random people they see and meet on a night out where taking coke when there out drinking, they would be horrified at how endemic it is.
About 5 ish years ago (maybe more like 7 if I think about it) coke replaced speed (whizz as it was called where I am) as the drinking drug, it became insanely easy to get gold of, sometimes easier to get than weed, though most dealers will have the big 4 in the UK, cannabis, coke, ket and some form of mdma.
Ket is the next big thing, I watch over the last 2 years that grow in popularity, 14 years ago when I started destroying my life it was quite rare, but the last couple of years it's showing up far far more on nights out, had a handful of instances where now ex freinds had mistaken a bag of ket for a bag of coke

Ket has been big for years, it's definitely nothing new. There's no way it'll ever become more popular than weed/coke, it's effects are way stronger and I think 'the majority' wouldn't like it or couldn't hack it. The reason coke is so popular is because you can hold it together whilst buzzing your nut off, it tames alcohol, and makes people more sociable (that and the 'image'). You most definitely can't do/be like that on ket, even if your tolerance is sky high to the point that your bladder has dissolved. Granted, it's a lot more popular than when it was mainly in the free-party scene, but it will never be the next big thing.

Yea, though I never thought coke would get this big, but then it got so much more easier for me to get and from there it became a thing every night out. Hell it's easier to get coke where I live than uber eats.
