There's lots of talk about age gaps these days on the basis of a power imbalance and maturity. But what about intelligence? A smart 30 year old can have just as much a power advantage over a dumb 30 year old. Smart people should not date dumb people. It's just wrong

Ever get tired of constant alumni surveys? I think many schools are really fucking up by sending so many, because only a few of them actually matter.
Career center surveys give your school, and your younger peers, extremely useful data. Official salary stats help us know our market value, and make stressful negotiations mostly trivial.
At my first job out of school, I got 10k extra on a decent offer just by having that data to back me up.
You didn't hear it from me, but if we want to help out the next class, we can also lie to the surveys. Let's tell them we all make an extra 20 or 30k?
Hello reddit, I'm hoping someone knows of a consumer accessible shape-memory polymer that fits my needs. I'm looking for something sold in sheets that is:
- Highly flexible, can be elastically deformed at room temp around a 1" radius, in any available thickness
- Low recovery transition temperature (but this isnt a dealbreaker)
- Available in sheets less than 1mm thick
- Low coefficient of friction
Anyone else?
I recently finished my bachelors and started my first full time job. My employer is enthusiastic about paying for continued education. If I started a masters degree in the near future, while working full time, would it count toward the PE experience requirement separately from my work experience? If I finished the degree in less than four years, could I potentially get my PE license early?
Summer internship work is typically not considered as experience by NCEES because its part of the four years that the bachelor's degree counts for. But I took a year off school between sophomore and junior year to save money, during which I worked as an engineering intern for about 6 months. Should I submit this experience for review?
Also, can you get the year of experience credit from a masters if you complete the degree while working full time? If classes are taken outside of office hours?
I got an offer today from a company I like and successfully negotiated for another 10k over the phone. They haven't sent an updated offer for me to sign yet, but they're in a bit of a rush to hire and want me to start on Monday. Over the phone I basically said I'd do it but I haven't signed anything yet. I have a second interview for another company tomorrow, and if they want me and match the offer I'd rather work there for a number of reasons including convenience and a better professional reputation.
So how should I approach this? Do I tell them after the interview that I need an offer before Monday in order to consider it? Or do I just tell them about the offer and quit the other job if
Thats all. I read A LOT of fantasy, and I like romance plots. I usually read whatever catches my interest without regard to what's popular or recommended, but in newly exploring the more risqué subgenres, I do hope to leverage my catalogue toward socialization more than in the past.
Will reading this series help me have sex at Renaissance fair? Thats it. That's my question. I will also accept additional suggestions, I don't expect this series to last me very long.
If anyone's read Quarter Share/Trader Tales by Nathan Lowell, I really loved most of that series. Focuses mostly on culture and life on an intergalactic shipping vessel, as well as the many spaceports they visit.
Today I approached my materials science professor after class with a question about an apparent error in our homework problem statement. The problem included a design criteria that "delta t < abs(0.050 mm)" which I thought should've been "abs(delta t) < 0.050 mm". In the context of the problem, delta t will always be a negative number. He got mad at me, refused to discuss it, and I later exchanged a few emails with him. Refusing to admit to making a mistake, he eventually explicitly asserted that "delta t < abs(0.050 mm)" is equivalent to "abs(delta t) < 0.050 mm". So I'm asking for your help, what kind of ridiculous proofs can we derive from this supposed 'fact' so tha
