Looking for advice on choosing between a pattern 99 blade versus a gold seal blade. Currently using a coronation ace lite which I am not a fan of and that’s the reason for the switch. My single jumps are pretty good but my spins need tons and tons of work. From what I’ve read, gold seal seemed like the better route but one of my coaches recommended the pattern 99s instead (and the other said gold seal 🤦🏻‍♀️)

If I skate on my lake frequently, am I risking ruining my blades? I know it’s not great for the blades, but will it just dull them quicker or is there risk for actually ruining them? Thanks ☺️

I just had a fitting tonight for new skates (upgrading out of my Riedell Emeralds) and decided to go with the Edea Chorus. I originally went in with the intention of getting Overtures, but the fitter shut that idea down quickly and said Chorus would be a better route, so I’ve got those ordered. They were so comfy when I tried them on, I’m excited! She recommended that I do a Jackson Aspire blade…I thought this seemed like a weird combo? I went in thinking a coronation ace would be the way to go and she said I could definitely do that, but that she would start in an aspire or maybe even a legacy (which she said was nearly identical to a CA, is that true?) before a CA. Anyone have any though

Hi there! I’ve just gotten back into skating after taking lessons as a child and skated recreationally my whole life since. I’d consider myself a beginner even though I know the majority of the basics. I just started in an LTS class at the rink by my house. I really want more instructional time…20 min once a week just doesn’t feel like enough. Would it be helpful to enroll in another LTS session at another nearby rink or is that overdoing it? Thanks!
