I'm planning on building a NAS using a DS380 as the chassis, but I'm concerned about cooling. It'll be using this mobo with a 3700X (from my main machine).
While I'm aware that the HDD cooling can struggle a bit, it seems like there are a few DIY options to fix this. The part I'm concerned about is the motherboard, since it's passive x570 and apparently the 10GbE NIC also gets very toasty.
Does anyone have any experience with this chassis and how good the airflow is around the mobo? Also, is there space to zip tie an 80mm or even 60mm fan pointing at the chipset/NIC in case the cooling isn't good enough?
I kinda wanna go for a run, but not while they're still around.
My xros arrived in the mail this morning, and I'm already having spitback issues with it. Initially I filled it with some strong nic salts juice I had laying around, and this caused horrible spitback, however it's 40:60 VG:PG. My sub ohm juice seems to be a bit better (currently running a mix), would finding some proper high VG nic salts juice help the spitback issue?
I'm using an Onkyo tx sr576 avr connected to my pc using toslink, the speakers are a pair of Jamo c93s.
When I turn the volume up (very high), a loud buzzing sound quickly appears regardless of which source I've selected (digital vs analogue input doesn't make a difference). Oddly enough, when the receiver is trying to play something using dts encoding the buzzing isn't present (although that's not much use given that most stuff I play doesn't use dts).
Also worth mentioning that the only times I put the volume up that high are when watching quiet movies. If I tried those volumes with music, I'd end up deaf very quickly, so it's not noticable most of the time.
Is anyone here familiar wi
I recently tried to set up pro online on my PSP 3004 03g (running 6.61 custom firmware, has been running this for years). However, when I tried to actually play multiplayer it crashed and turned off. Now when I try to turn it on, I make it past the initial boot screen and no further, with it being stuck at the (normally brief) loading screen before the xmb menu is displayed. Square + Triangle + Start + Select seems to have reset the background colour and nothing else.
Is there any hope of fixing it? I don't have access to any recovery menus due to the lack of permanent cfw.
Edit: alright I've managed to get it working again, I tried the reset button combo a few more times and eventuall
Over the past couple of years, my surface book has had issues with high battery drain during sleep. It usually drains at 800-1400mW while sleeping, which will make it hibernate at the 5% battery usage threshold after a few hours. There are plenty of hits when searching for this issue, but none of them seem to be resolved. Has anyone here successfully fixed the issues, or is the only option to just use hibernate instead of sleep?
We are a flat of 5 students, somehow our power bills are reaching 1300-1500kwh per month. We don't use our heat pump (or any other heaters). My only guess as to what's using all the power is either personal electronics (computers, game consoles, etc), kitchen appliances, or our hot water cylinders.
Is there an easy way to check hot water cylinder power consumption? The cylinders are both cold to touch, so I assume they're well insulated.
I'm looking at getting a new sub ohm DTL tank. My main priority is coil life, cheap coils would also be nice. I'm using an eleaf iPower currently, so tanks with coils in the 50-70 watt range would be preferable.
Any advice on a good tank or tanks to avoid? I'm currently considering the Fireluke 2, mesh pro, Geekvape Zeus, and Uwell crown 4. Also, while I'd rather avoid it, I would be open to buying a new mod if my current one is just too old to be worth pairing with a new tank.
I bought myself a pair of Jamo C93's about a month ago (paired with a second hand onkyo tx sr576), and so far they've served me well so far. However, about an hour ago I stopped getting much noise from the woofer in the left speaker. It started working again after cranking the volume, however this obviously isn't a proper solution (my flatmates certainly wouldn't appreciate it).
Is the issue likely to be the woofer in the speaker, or could it be some sort of issue with the receiver? I don't have any other speakers to test the receiver with, but given that the tweeter was still working I'm leaning towards the speaker being the issue. I'd certainly prefer to get it fixed sooner rather tha
