Hi, I’ve an old 2015 15” MacBook Pro that has a slowly swelling battery. The screen is busted too, but the HDMI output works fine so it’s permanently attached to my TV and I only use it as an Apple TV.
Would the MacBook still boot and work if I remove the battery and have it plugged in 100% of the time? Or is there some hardware/software check for a working battery somewhere?
(I have plenty of experience taking apart Apple hardware and handling Li-Ion batteries, but just don’t want to spent a lot of time on this if it’s a lost cause.)
Thanks.

Tip for people among us that wear wigs and don't want (or can't) shell out a lot of money yet, or just want to try cheaper wigs.
I found it in yesterday's Washington Post in an article about actors wearing wigs in movies. (gift link).
It's presented as an interactive test, but after you click the 'tests' a lot of informative text is displayed about wigs.
This is a GREAT tip by a professional wig specialist that might be useful to us:
*In productions where a custom wig can’t be made, there are some tricks to help a cheaper hairpiece look better. “Generally, it’s tweezing out 40 to 50 percent of the hair to make it look not so dense around the crown. The amoun
Hi, first post.
And also my first HRT appointment today. (I'm not the only one.)
Current status: 59, AMAB, non-binary (for now?). In a bit unusual order, I started occasionally wearing skirts in public a few years ago because men wearing dresses should be normalized. But it turned out it also made me happier, and when I looked in the mirror on a more female day, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. So it became a gender thing. Now I wear female clothes all the time. No makeup, but big dangly earrings and I changed my hairstyle which made a huge difference. I don't pass but many people have to look twice. (Wearing a mask to prevent getting Covid helps a lot to be gendered female, one of

Hi, I had a roommate this summer in two rooms of my apartment. I always thought he had a terrible body odour, but he was a very young guy, this was the first time he was away from his parents, and he was very self-conscious so I never brought it up. He obviously knew it was a problem because he talked about deodorant a few times and washed his clothes very often. But when I once took his laundry from the line because it started to rain, his clothes still smelled like that. They were totally impregnated with his smell.
But after he moved out I found out that both 'his' rooms were very strongly smelling like him. Just being in those rooms made me nauseous because of the stink. I'm a super tas

Hi, a new replacement KT controller I bought has a Julet Z916 motor plug. It looks identical to my other controller's plug that connects to my Bafang motor, but the motor is marked with 8Fun brand. Both are 9 pins (3 pins and 5 on the edge). But they don't fit :-(
Judging the pin position it should go in a certain way, but then the arrows don't line up, they're at about 20° of an angle. The male is also slightly larger, but still hexagonal. With a second motor I have I could force it in but the motor doesn't work at all.

Hi folks!
Can't get in touch with Rad support and I'm in dire need of a replacement for the bottom bracket of the (ab)used Radwagon 4 I bought a while ago.*
Anybody knows the exact size of the bottom bracket? And maybe even has another source for it? My searches so far haven't been very successful.
Thanks!
(*The drive train of this bike was in terrible shape. I already replaced the bent cranks and pedals, but the bottom bracket has also experienced too many falls. The previous owner never used the pedals, but rode the bike as a moped. He crashed it a couple of times, very few parts are original.)
I ordered the Rad Power Bikes Fat Tire Wheel Lock when it was announced in early April, for my RadRover 6+. It took a while to be delivered and I have since acquired a used Radwagon 4, and the Radrover is currently for sale.
But since I received the lock, I had to see if I could install it on my Radwagon, even though it's not officially supported by Rad.
So I took advantage of this beautiful long weekend and installed it and made a long illustrated and annotated post on Imgur.
I included photos with precise measurements so you can 'try before you buy' if you have another unsupported fat or cargo bike, even if it's from another brand.
It might be useful fo
Est-ce que c'est possible? Je viens d'apprendre que le pont Jaques-Carter est fermé la nuit. (WTF?)
Et personne as dit Google.
