Figure Drawing, also known as Life Drawing, is one of the best things you can do to learn how to draw our most complicated and most common subject - the human figure.
This is drawing from a live model, in-person, usually in a class setting. Many great artists do this regularly, and many non-great artists, such as me, do it regularly too to enjoy the hobby and develop our skills.
Personally, I find it to be one of the best ways to enter the 'flow state' and get completely lost in drawing. You get an insane amount of practice and you also get broken of many bad habits like overworking or procrastinating. I also love the chance to study the human form and witness its beauty in

I have a 2001 Golf GTI and it's currently stuck at the liquor store.
Previously it's had this problem where it would not shift out of park when the engine was running, and I was doing a workaround where I would put the shifter between neutral and drive, turn the car on and then pull it into drive. That worked for about a week and now I got a new problem (not sure if related). Now it doesn't start, and it doesn't fully turn off - like it's stuck in the accessory mode somehow. There's also a light with a picture of a ke

Some people are able to close their eyes and perfectly imagine a lit scene with all of it's details, as though it was right in front of them. Other people can imagine one or two things at a time, and only see the details if they think about them, for others mental images appear dim or vague and some people can't see any images whatsoever and did not even realize that anyone could.

So I think I'm about in the middle here, I can see images, especially if I am familiar with them or I've drawn them, but they're kinda flickery and I gotta think about the

I just signed up for New Masters Academy about a week ago and the content is just incredible. I have been watching youtube art lessons and trying to teach myself how to draw humans, and then I saw Steve's 3 hours lesson on the shape of the headand I was intrigued. He goes into so much more depth than other sources and really builds a deep understanding of the shape and form...
I'm about 9 hours into the figure drawing class which means I'm on lecture 3, and I saw a few other lectures from other classes, and there's just so much in-depth knowedge here. I really like the approach this takes which emphasizes understanding and study. So much o
