I thought I'd clear up the reason for my resignation in case anyone noticed the mod list was down another member and wanted to know why.

In short, I think we've accomplished what we set out to do when I originally signed on two years ago. Thus, my reason (and motivation) for being a mod has, in my mind, ceased.

The sub isn't perfect. Due to the nature of religious debate, there will always be some inherent issues that can't be resolved without biased action. But I think this sub has come a long way in being a higher quality, less toxic environment than what it was when I joined the mod team. Hopefully, most of you that have been around that long agree. If not, the moderators are always ope

I just received a billing statement for an MRI I had February 2014 in the amount of $1,915.00. I was confused since I had multiple MRIs last year due to a non-work related accident and had never paid more than a few hundred for each MRI all from the same imaging office. I looked up my account through their billing website and discovered my insurance had denied their claim with the given reason: The time limit for filing has expired.

Here are the dates:

Dated of service: February 2014

Filed primary: July 2014

Guarantor Responsibility date: February 2015

Statement date: March 2015

My question: Do I really have to foot the entire bill just because the imaging office took too long to file

In an effort to improve the quality of this sub, we no longer allow empty or low effort posts to be submitted. Automoderator will automatically remove any post submissions that contain an empty or very short body. Please keep this in mind while submitting posts in the future.

Edit: As holyphuck pointed out, there have also been a few CSS changes including: a red alert reminding you to not post empty threads when you hover over the "submit a new test post" button and a message in the comment box that says "Antagonistic Posts are Against the Rules. Report Don't Reply"

###Reddit has begun its annual "Best of" awards.

For those of you unfamiliar, the Reddit admins ask the mods of all of the subs to hold "Best of" nominations for categories of our choosing. The results of these nominations are posted in the r/bestof2014 subreddit, which is advertised sitewide. We are also given Reddit creddits, the amount allotted being based on subreddit size, to award to the winner of each category. One Reddit creddit gives you one month of Reddit gold.

As you may have seen, we recently reached 10,000 subscribers. Some people have expressed interest in seeing what the demographics of this sub are. So, I decide to create this straw poll to allow us all to get a general idea of who participates here. I have included an "Other" and "Undecided" category. If you fall into the "Other" category, feel free to leave a comment here stating your affiliation.

If you do not see the flair you would like to have listed in the stock flair options, you can request custom flair by messaging the mods, and it will be assigned to you. The following are the criteria for custom flair requests:

  • Limited to two classifications e.g. [Baptist, Ex-Catholic]

  • Must be relevant to religious discussion i.e. signify religious/spiritual belief or lack thereof.

  • No parody religions

The purpose of flair in this sub: To let others in this sub know your basic stance/set of beliefs.

Some reasons we want to get rid of custom flair:

  • Some people have nonsensical or wholly irrelevant flair that doesn't tell you anything about their beliefs e.g. "Space Cowboy"

  • Some people use it to make jokes

  • Some people us it to shame other people

What we could do instead: If you desire something beyond the stock flair options, you could request special flair. This would either be assigned directly to you or added to the stock flair options. Of course, your desired flair would have to be approved by a mod.

We are growing fairly steadily and are looking to offer more to the community. To do that, we will need help. So, we are looking to recruit a few mods from this subreddit.

Your immediate priority would be monitoring the threads, handling reports, and the spam queue. This would be a probationary position of sorts with promotion to full moderator status a possibility.

So, if you are interested, let us know in the comments. It would be helpful if you could tell us why you want to be a mod, the number one change, if any, you would like to see made, and a ball park figure on how many hours you could contribute per day or per week, whichever is easier for you to estimate.

I think this sub has come a long way in the past year or so, but there is always room for growth. So, we are calling on you, the subreddit community, to share your criticisms with us.

What do you think of the state of this subreddit? Are the mods doing a good job? Are there any features you'd like to see added or taken away? What do you envision this sub being like?

Feel free to be honest but respectful.
