Hi Friends! My wife was recently diagnosed with EDS + MCAS + PASQ in her late 30s. Obviously nobody is excited to get a diagnosis...but it really does answer a lot of questions for us, and helps me understand a little more about how I can make her as comfortable and healthy as possible. Is there anything that as a community you would introduce a newly diagnosed person? Any thoughtful or informed gift you can recommend so that I can show her support?

PS: Sorry if this is tone deaf, but I can tell you're a great community dealing with a lot of pain, and really want to take good care of each other.

This week I got a letter from the City Assessor, and it was a real gut punch. I own a condo, and suddenly the amount I owe the city for property taxes now exceeds what I owe the county. I'm not talking about a "rate increase" from this school board fiasco, my bill went from ~$1500/yr to $18,000. Retroactively for the last year, and proactively from now on. I actually do not know if I can afford to keep my home, and I literally bought this shit like 2 years ago. My neighbors are all starting to look at moving, but the amount of tax is so significant that our property values have gone down. Anybody looking at the expense of owning a home in our building has to factor in $1500 a month

Perpetual Reschedule Hell

Customer Question

Hi folks! I "bought" a Samsung Bespoke stove and fridge combo in September. Shortly thereafter, the colored panels for the fridge arrived, and I picked them up. They've been in the back of my car since then.

The rest of the order, however, has now been rescheduled 27 times. Not an exaggeration - Lowe's has literally given me a new delivery date 27 times as of this morning.

I know that appliance shortages are real, and I was prepared to wait quite awhile for this, but it has now been 145 days. During that time, the "in stock" alerts on these products have emailed me more than once. More than once, I've had the text message about delivery go to my phone, and then later in the day, an

Hi Folks!

After weeks of attempting to spawn in grain bags, and failing to see ANY activity except eventual contamination, I purchased some potato dextrose agar plates and made myself a still air box.

Process was as follows:

  • All work in still air box with door closed.
  • 1cc squirted into shot glass using well-shaken B+ syringe with fresh needle.
  • 1 sterile swab opened, swirled in the liquid.
  • Opened a Petri dish, rolled in zigzag pattern.
  • Closed Petri dish. Open for 3-5sec.
  • Repeated for the other two dishes.
  • Removed needle and sealed syringe.
  • Parafilm applied to all three dishes.
  • Each dish numbered.
  • Left in the SAB for now, in the dark, 65-70F(I know this is below recomm

Hi! I’m an electronic musician of 20+ years, but it’s my hobby, not a hustle that I think will lead to wealth and fame. I grew up in the music industry and I am, to put it mildly, not that interested in being involved with it. I have a real job and it’s actually very lucrative and pleasant.

That said, I’d really like to have a partner in crime to collaborate with, pool resources, share ideas and sounds, etc. I’m on Vampr but I am finding so far that it’s 100% people focused on “industry success” more than music. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can find collaborators that see eye to eye with me? I just want to make good music, for its own sake.

Hi Vets! I had a very expensive day today at the veterinary ER, but I am no closer to a solution or progress with my pug mix. About the dog:
He’s a 13 year old frenchie/pug mix. He’s got a passion for eating trash, and I while I watch him like a hawk on walks, it really only takes a second to snatch something awful up and eat it.
He has some lung scarring and early signs of congestive heart failure after a multi-year battle with respiratory illnesses that began when everyone in the house got COVID.

About our recent problem: In the past 72hrs he has become unable to hold down even water. Lethargic, unable to walk beyond short distances. Vomiting constantly, always clear liquid the

COVID lasts for months?

Symptom relief/advice

I’m on my third time getting COVID - once in 2020, once that lasted from October 2021 until February 2022, and now I have had it for about a month. Does anybody else test positive and feel like shit for months at a time like this? Why does this happen?

All the COVID articles out there make this sound like a 10 day thing, and I cannot find anything written on the topic. I don’t have extreme symptoms, just fatigue, systemic inflammation, and brain fog for months on end.

This is my story of religious trauma - there are many like it, but maybe reading this can help you feel a little less alone.

Up until about 2nd grade I my family was a member of a Branhamite cult. Pretty run of the mill Evangelical cult, everything they believed was "normal" except for...the addition of one weird prophet, Joseph Branham. I remember almost none of this period because I was in church from infancy.

I started to rebel at about 9 years old, 4th grade. During church I was always defensive daydreaming and dissociation, literally ANYTHING to do to protect my brain from all the fire and brimstone and altar calls. I didn't understand what I was doing at the time - I just knew I

One thing I've been trying to work on this year is thinking about my modular as a system of primitive components, rather than thinking about features and modules themselves. A good activity for this has been looking at a snazzy module, and thinking about it as the sum of its primitive parts. I've been very interested in the Moog DFAM lately

It seems pretty simple, here are the parts as I can identify them:

  • 2 VCOs (w/ Sync and FM)
  • 1 Filter (HP/LP)
  • 3 EGs (pitch, filter, volume)
  • 2 8 step sequencers (pitch and velocity by default)
  • 1 3-channel mixer (OSC 1 & 2, Noise/Ext)
  • 6 VCAs (mostly attenua

I have been grappling with using my modular in conjunction with other instruments, and as part of a larger arrangement. I view this as a potentially important step away from just "making noises" with it.

Unfortunately this has proven to be more difficult than I expected, because of issues with oscillators not tracking quite right, voltages sagging, oscillator instability, etc. The gear in question is:

  • Doepfer Precision Adder, S&H, and Slew Limiter
  • Intellijel Scales
  • MN ST0, Doepfer standard VCO, and Pittsburgh Modular Oscillator
  • TD-3, Voltage Block, and Varigate 4+ as sequencers.

What I am finding is that the precision adder introduces sag when voltages are routed through it
