I recently accepted an offer for a job from a temp agency I'm working with. It was the first offer I got and I needed a job quick.

I started on Monday but today I received a call from another agency about a position we had spoken about that sounds like a much better fit for me. I had assumed that possibility was dead in the water as I had not heard from them in a few weeks.

I would like to switch but I'm worried it may look bad in the future or that future employers will think I am likely to jump ship immediately.

Let's all take a moment to focus on some of the stuff we're doing right. What did you do today, dating related or otherwise, that you absolutely killed it at? Alternatively, what's something about yourself that you feel is a really positive trait?

My car is making a weird noise and the mechanic said it would probably cost a lot to fix, my temp job called and said they would be ending the assignment early, my boss at my 2nd was really excited to tell me about how she got a hotel room with her weed dealer and cheated on her husband, and my room mate forgot to pick me up from work and my cell phone is dead so I'm waiting for a cab.

Right, and I guess you guys can complain too.

Have you ever held off on trying to meet people or dating because you felt that you weren't 100% prepared? Because you haven't quite figured out what to put on your profile, or because you don't have enough pictures that aren't selfies, or because you're just waiting for when you graduate/move/get that raise or promotion? Are you holding yourself to a higher standard than the people you choose to pursue?

How much of the hesitation is just an excuse not to message people? Is it just another way of rejecting yourself before someone else can? Is it a form of self sabotage the same way refusing to acknowledge your flaws is?
