I just had a set of blood tests done and my liver enzyme results were outside of normal bounds - ALT (SGPT) was double. Cholesterol, metabolic panel, thyroid and diabetes test all showed normal. I am currently on 0.025 MG Estradiol Patch.

Naturally my Primary Care physician jumped straight to - it's the HRT! You MUST stop!

Meanwhile I am carrying a LOT of weight in my mid-section, the result of working in Sales for years and wining & dining customers many nights.

From researching on this sub, it looks like Estrogen administered via patch actually bypasses the liver or at least, doesn't impact the liver: this article [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16145317/](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.

I started on 0.025 Estradiol patch + 100mg of progesterone 4 months ago, with positive results so far - greatly improved sleep, lowered anxiety, hot flashes reduced by 90%. However I still have low libido and brain fog. From reading all of your posts and our Wiki, seems like testosterone would help with these symptoms.

How have all of you framed the request to your doctors and been successful? My doctor is supportive and really listens but I'm always concerned with being dismissed. Thanks!

Hot flashes - a vent!

Hot Flashes/Night Sweats

I am "fortunate" enough to have a relatively senior job at a big tech firm. Part of my job involves discussing which folks on my teams are ready for promotion. We run this process in groups of my peers and it's data driven i.e. we evaluate people on a range of objective metrics but then it's really up to the manager to make a really good case for promotion for the person.

Anyway, it was finally my turn to present my promotion candidate. Cool. No pressure! Except halfway through the discussion, I start to get a hot flash. I turn bright red, sweating. My director thinks I'm stressed and/or panicking and that I'm going to pass out on the ground (he was gesturing to me that it was OK). Of cours

I have a "if I didn't laugh, I'd cry" experience to share on a diversity exercise gone wrong. I'll share my story here but I'd love to hear from all of you too!

About 5 years ago, I worked for a tech "startup" that had about 300 employees. Using inverted commas because the company was about ten years old at that point and profitable. Everyone got together in-person for a company kickoff and as part of that, we had a diversity expert come in to present on inclusivity.

One of the "inclusivity" exercises started with all 300 of us standing in a circle in a large room. The expert asked a series of questions and for each question where your answer was yes, you took a step forward towards the m

I’m on my second week of Estradiol patch, .025 and Progesterone (100mg). It’s done a great job of reducing my hot flashes and making me just feel like myself again - especially reducing my anxiety and depression.

The only issue is for the past 2 days all I’ve wanted to do is sleep! I hadn’t been sleeping well before starting HRT so I’m reveling in the good nights sleep but it’s just so hard to get anything done.

Has anyone else had this happen? Did it go away eventually? Trying not to let it impact my job and failing!

I had my first doctor's appointment about peri-menopause and menopause symptoms. I did a LOT of reading on this sub and gather up all of the tips & tricks you all have shared. I was a bit skeptical tbh because it was a "new to me" doctor AND a guy. I shared all my symptoms with him and stated upfront I'm interested in starting HRT. He listened! He said was absolutely fine prescribing HRT and then reviewed additional approaches that might help such as pelvic floor PT, mental health care etc. I said I also have an appointment with Midi tomorrow and he asked that I talk to them too and then let him know if I'd prefer to work with Midi or with him. I am 100% certain the appointment wouldn't have

My in-laws were in town for Memorial Day weekend and we had a BBQ on Monday for our extended family at our house. Now my FIL especially loves to just say mean things and go “What. It was a joke.”

Anyway, I’m chilling on the back deck with my two nephews, who are 16 and 19. We’re chatting and eating chips and dip. Boomer in-laws walk in and go “Oh look at the piggies! Oink oink oink”. MIL makes a pig face and acts out pig sounds. Wtf. They haven’t even sat down at this point.

Anyway, I immediately say “hey NOT ok!” To my nephew’s credit, he responds with “that’s really unkind and rude. Please don’t do that.” In-laws huff and puff and basically go “we do what we want”. Nephew goes “well th
