title. I used to think this way, that that's the reason I have a hard time catching any sort of feelings other than sexual attraction. I could meet a lot of guys that are really great men on paper, have sex with them because of the physical attraction, and then lose interest completely. I tried postponing sex with new men until the second or third date and realized it made no difference. over the years I've realized that for me, if I'm gonna catch feelings, it happens at the first meeting, and so it doesn't affect our relationship if we end up having sex on the first date. in fact, all my best relationships have started with sex on the first date. I think that maybe for me the confirmation o

So it's obvious some of the interlink forms represent Xeno references:

Noah - Weltall

Mio - KOS-MOS

Eunie - E.S. Zebulun (MOMO's ES)

Sena - Crescens

But I can't seem to find a perfect match for Lanz's and Taion's interlinks. My best guess is that Lanz is referencing E.S Gad (obscure reference tho) and Taion kind of looks like the Executioner from Xenogears. Any other guesses?

While the Xenoblade wiki shines light on some of the names used in the game not all of them have an explanation for the reason behind them. I feel like most of the important names/terminology in the game was chosen for a reason so I wanted to hear your thoughts on the following-

Alrest - the biggest mystery for me. in japanese it's A-ru-su-to. could it be derived from german Erst ("first")? in old English airist means first or earliest. perhaps it refers to Alrest being the "first" world the titans are born into but it seems farfetched.

Arusu (titans in japanese) - my best guess is that it comes from Hebrew A'arez, meaning "land".

Logos - unsure why this part of the trinity refe

considering blades have at least human intelligence and their base personality isn't determined by the driver that woke them it's so weird seeing a random enormous spider with its own blade. like imagine being Wulfric, waking up to the face of an unintelligent spider beast that cannot communicate and probably has a long lifespan, and you're like well fuck now I'm stuck in servitude for life to this vile monster in this dark cave that probably doesn't even know we are supposed to team up and might eat me at any random whim. I do remember some tiger beast or whatever in Tantal with its own blade as well, but hey at least mammals make for generally better pets and you get some fresh air and lig

just moved into a new apartment and I'm trying to decorate the wall with some posters. I love JRPGs and want that piece of me represented in my home. I'm looking for something more subtle than big titty anime babes, but a bit of anime doesn't hurt. I was thinking of the promo poster for SMT II with the archangels but I'm looking for some more ideas before sending it out for print. anyone using JRPG artwork as wall decoration in their home?

As per the title I am wondering if it's a good idea to use silk with a wax coating as rainwear material. I found this beautiful leaf green silk dupioni which should be fairly densely woven, and considering it's lightness and durability (and beautiful color!) I was wondering if it could be made into a raincoat. I was thinking of using regular fabric/barbour wax to give it a degree of waterproofing. The advantage over a waxed cotton canvas would be the lightness and beauty of it. Now I do have a real sturdy Gore-Tex jacket for torrential rain and hiking, so this would be a coat for light to medium rainy days. What do you guys think, could waxed silk dupioni be used as rain material?

I was thinking the other day how the Xenosaga trilogy would make for an excellent tv series. honestly you could keep a lot of material and direction as is and it would translate well. the series relies a lot more on conversational scenes rather than action (although there is that as well) setpieces which would keep down production costs. most of the characters are quite believable and their personal struggles and relationships would be palatable to a western audience (if, say, Netflix would produce it).

it would still make for extremely compelling watching considering how strong the storyline is and how far its philosophical topics go. the philosophy is also mostly western in origin whi

hey r/anime! Kunihiko Ikuhara is one of my biggest inspirations in all mediums when it comes to storytelling. his works have had a huge impact on me and how I interpret literary (i.e. all mediums that use written scripts) works. I believe all of his works have strengths and weaknesses, but I would like to know how you would rank them in order of most to least favorite. as for me:

Utena - shocker. it is a classic masterpiece. I don't have to expand too much on this I think. what sets it apart from his other works is its length, which allows for much deeper character development.

Yuri Kuma Arashi - unpopular opinion to rank it this highly? I suppose that the incredibly heavy use

a detail that often goes overlooked is the visual evolution of machine intelligence in the game. it roughly follows the progression of Maslow's pyramid of needs, even if this was intended by Taro or not.

physiological needs: the machines start off as being unintelligent, only reactionary, almost like amoebas or other low life forms. they consume natural resources and have aggressive instincts towards the androids. this is seen when we first explore the city ruins and the factory.

safety needs: the desert pit with the fornicating machines represent the beginning of human society, where the machines have to form a tribe to protect themselves from their natural predators (the a
