I'm interested in building a loft bed for my daughter, and wanted to consult the community: Has anyone here built a loft bed?
Got anything you want to share? I'm interested in seeing your designs. I'm also interested in seeing professional plans. Willing to pay, if they're from a reputable woodworking plan designer, but I'm not sure who's recommended in the industry, or where you can search that sort of thing.
The loft bed is for my daughter. Goal is to free up some floor space by getting her desk underneath the loft. I'm also open to having a desk permanently attached to the bottom of the loft, which might be a solid solution to add some stability. If sensible, something that utilize
I'm interested in self improvement. Also interested in efficiency. One issue I have was that I work in an office chair all day, and I'm sure you all know the health risks associated with that. The general medical guidance is to stand up and take a physical and visual break every 1-2 hours.
My solution:
I keep a couple of weights at my desk. Every hour or so, I pick them up for 20-30 reps. This takes about a minute to complete. I increase the weight by 5 lb if I can easily get more than 30 reps each time.
This works well because it reminds me to take a break. I get a chance to think about my work, I'll get some water if needed, and now I can curl 40 lbs! (when I started, I could comforta
Can't find anything on the internet, but I imagine I can't be the only person with this issue.
I'm playing Warzone 2, and seeing a lot of - what appears to be - network-related lag issues. Rubber-banding is the worst of it. Happens very frequently. Makes the game nearly unplayable, and has been causing me to lose a lot of fire fights recently. I've been playing DMZ or Multiplayer, because I'd be quite frustrated if I was well into a BR match, and I died because the game decided to teleport me backward to the same spot 3 times and find out I'm dead before I know I'm being shot at.
Every network diagnostic that I can run shows the same latency and stability that I always have. But for some r
I used to stream on Twitch - game dev and web apps. Never got huge, but it was fun!
One of my favorite things while streaming was to get distracted by chat and field their questions. People would share portfolios with me and ask for advice, or share coding challenges with me and ask for help discovering solutions. People would show me their designs or UI/UX concepts and ask for feedback. Sometimes business advice. But, unfortunately, work has me busy and I can no longer commit the hours necessary to properly do that.
At the start of my career, I had a hard time getting started, because there wasn't much help on the internet back then. I don't want that to happen to you. I can offer a few h
Anyone else try flying airplanes in Caldera with mouse and keyboard? It's a lot more difficult than I would have anticipated. I am tempted to load in with a controller, just to properly enjoy airplanes. But then when I'm no longer in the airplane, I can't just switch to mouse and key while on foot. Sucks.
First, what they did get right:
- Being able to enable advanced controls is great. I love this. Best of both worlds. I only use advanced controls while flying aircraft. You can do this on controller as well as mouse and key.
Some horrible issues that I've noticed:
- You have to keep moving the mouse in order to keep rolling, climbing, etc. Very annoying when you're trying to dogfi
I had a question about S3.
I have a PHP site set up. From that site, I have an HTML form where a person can submit a question, and upload an image. The uploaded image is stored in a non-public S3 bucket, and a record of its location is stored in a database, along with necessary data about the user who uploaded it. I was able to get all of this working so far.
So now I would like to serve that image from the secure S3 to an admin. The admin should be able to view the image from a dashboard that exists on this PHP site. I started work on this end. Expectedly, when I attempt to embed the image into a dashboard, I am getting a 403 error.
So, my question: __How can I embed this image from a se

I've seen games rise on the internet suddenly (Rocket League, Fortnite, and now Fall Guys). Most of them I understood. But Fall Guy, not so much. It looks incredibly fun, but I haven't had time to play it after buying it yet. So I watch Twitch etc for passive entertainment while working.
But how did this game get so big? Was there one YTer or streamer that played it and boosted it's popularity? Was it advertised heavily? Was it featured on some other popular show? It's kinda like Mario Party, which is an excellent game, but never achieved this level of streamer/internet hype popularity. I just don't get it!
