What are some must-have accessories for the ID.4?

Just got a 2023 ID.4 Pro S

What are some must-have accessories?

Links or suggestions would be appreciated.

These items are in my cart:
Storage Tray/Organizer for the space under the cup holders

Door Side Tray for the 4 doors

Foot Pedal Covers

Screen Protectors for the 2 screens

Also- If anyone has a link to Door Sil Protectors, it would be appreciated. I'm looking for some that have "ID.4" or "VW" on it. Can't seem to find it.

Yurik’s rear camera hood (Etsy), frunk kit (Etsy), Lasfit mats, fitcamx dash cam were on my list. Plus a mobile charger.

I really want the Frunk kit, but just works out so expensive... This one seems best. https://www.frunk.at/produkt/vw-id-4-frunk/

There's an Etsy one that's like $30 if you supply and modify a plastic tub yourself

Yes this is the one I was talking about.

Lasfit floor mats. They do sales on every possible holiday, you can get at least 15% off, I think I’ve seen up to 25%.

Second this, I bought these and have no regrets at all. They're way cheaper than the WeatherTech mats, they fit great, and they feel like they'll last.

I'm zeroing in on an AWD PRO S in arctic blue metallic. So it sounds like I should not get the $405 floor mats from the dealer? Any other tips or suggestions?

Aren’t those $405 mats just rebranded weather tech’s with a markup? Buy them form weather tech afterwards if you don’t like the lasfit.

I would not get the dealer mats, the lasfit ones are a perfect fit at least on mine, and rugged. I like YuriK’s accessories, really good quality and customer service. I have the sunglasses tray and another accessory tray. I have a 22, so the interior configuration is a little different.

Also I would suggest a ceramic coating and window tinting, but not through the dealership, though a specialty shop that does a lot of EVs. Ceramic coating really makes a difference with getting the dirt off.

I’m also tempted by the upgraded rear view camera that integrates a backup camera, that has to be ordered through and installed by the dealership. But I haven’t done it yet, I would say it’s very optional.

I'm starting with a lease to get the $7500 pass-through so I assume I can't do ceramic/tinting until I buy it out? I'll check out the yurik accessories.

2
Jackie_Burton•

If you’re buying it out how would they know, why would they care? Ceramic is invisible so they wouldn’t even be able to inspect for it.

Look at Griot’s 3-in-1 ceramic wax. It isn’t as durable as the professional applied stuff but it’s a fraction of the cost if you don’t mind reapplying once in a while like regular wax.

2
GrrrArrgh•

I don’t know, with ceramic nobody would ever know you had it done, I would think you could do that, it’s like a better version of waxing your car. It’s not the same as applying PPF. With window tinting, that’s a removable film so I would think you could do it if you plan on buying it out but I don’t know.

this. I got a pair of the factory carpet mats from a friend. Recently was given a set of the Lasfit mats and they are so much better.

Ceramic coating

what would a reasonable price be for this?

Something to bolt your rear license plate too. Why didn't VW supply this? My dealer had a service guy drill two holes in the back of the bumper cover.

6
Choice_Flower_6255•

Yes! So annoying and unnecessary. Yurik sells a 3d printed one on Etsy.

2
Jackie_Burton•

Our first one had the rear drilled out, at least it was straight, but front was untouched and I bought the sly bracket.

That was totaled and the replacement had the front drilled out crooked, rear untouched. Bought the Yuri rear mount and had to dremel the front bumper holes into slots to straighten it.

These car mfg’s will never learn to make decent plate brackets and not leave it up to a random tech to eyeball and drill into painted bumpers.

Since my ID4 has been in the shop for two months waiting for a backordered part, my suggestion for "must have accessory" is a spare front drive motor... Just in case! ☹️

) Yurik's rear camera hood
) Lasfit mats
) Tesla to J1772 adapter just to have in case you road trip a lot and find destination chargers
) Front window tint

No regrets with any of them.

Link to adapter?

I’d avoid Lectron and get a Tesla Tap 50A (or greater) the Lectron doesn’t have all the safety certifications.

Never had my front windows tinted. How dark did you get them?

1
lensgrabber•

This was for the front driver/passenger and not the windshield. Whatever the shop recommended to match the rears as close as possible. I think it was 27% and ceramic. I could feel the heat coming through the untinted window hitting my head and it was really annoying. With the ceramic I can feel just a little bit coming through but it's great overall and a must have if outside heat/sun bothers you.

What's the profile like for the viofo camera? Are there visible wires? For the fitcam, is the wire to the rear camera annoying in the cabin?

1
grenamier•

Would installing that fitcam void any warranties? It looks like a great solution to me.

Door handle cups, muddy buddy cad cut front, rear and boot mats

1
AgentCatBot•

I got custom door sills. They match the interior lighting and have id4. VW existed, but ID4 had to be custom text. Chinese manufacturer.

Magnetic and super easy.

Also got the screen protector, center tray (holds the microfiber disc that cleans the screen and door handle fingerprints), door trays, light up cup holder trays.

USB C to C cables.

1
Moogle301OP•

Do you have the link to the customer door sills?

iwannashitonu•

Must have is this. FITCAMX. Looks factory and plugs in to the power from the mirror harness. My next accessory is a spare tire.
